I Recovered from Shingles After I Eliminated My Resentment

(Minghui.org) I live in a rural area and have an unhappy marriage. Because I was mentally and physically abused, I became pessimistic, resentful, and constantly complained.

After I read Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Dafa in 1998, I understood everything I encountered was due to my own karma. Only by practicing Falun Dafa can we return to our true nature and our original homes. I would like to share something that happened in the summer of 2022.

During the three-year pandemic, my entire family of 12 were infected with COVID except my mother-in-law, who is in her 80s, and myself. My mother-in-law does not practice Dafa, but I took care of her, so she benefited from Dafa. My family witnessed the miracle of Dafa.

Recovering from Shingles

A small blister appeared on my abdomen last summer. Blisters kept erupting and eventually covered my entire body, except my back. It felt like thousands of needles were pricking me. The burst blisters stuck to my clothes.

When my sister-in-law noticed I had shingles, she brought me some ointment and told me to use it. I said, “I practice Falun Dafa, and I don’t need the medication.” A few days later she called a taxi and forced me to go to a hospital. I refused to be treated and returned home. My youngest sister-in-law later called me and said that I would be in great danger if the blisters kept expanding and reached my head. I told her not to worry, that I practiced Falun Dafa, and I would be fine.

I calmed down and looked inward. I realized I still had deeply hidden resentment. I complained and felt I was treated unfairly.

I live in the countryside and take care of my bedridden mother-in-law while my husband works in the city. He only occasionally comes home. I have no income. When I’m short of money, I have to do odd jobs to make a few hundred yuan. But I use these opportunities to clarify the truth to people.

I sometimes had negative thoughts. I’ve been married for more than 30 years. I took care of our two children, my parents. and his parents. My mother-in-law is now bedridden. Everything seemed to be my responsibility. My sisters-in-laws sometimes help me because they cannot stand how my husband treats me. My husband not only verbally abuses me but also had an affair. I often complained that life wasn’t fair.

Master said,

“In cultivation, there may be two scenarios when dealing with specific conflicts or when others treat you badly. One is that you might have treated this person badly in your previous life. You feel in your heart that it is unfair, “How can this person treat me like this?” Then why did you treat this person that way in the past? You might claim that you actually did not know it at that time, and this lifetime has nothing to do with another lifetime, but that won’t do.” (Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun)

I realized my developing shingles was a cultivation opportunity. I persisted in studying the Fa, doing the exercises, clarifying the truth, and sending righteous thoughts. The other practitioners also helped me by sending righteous thoughts. Without injections or medicine, the blisters disappeared in 20 days.

My husband said, “Others aren’t healed, even with injections. How did you recover so quickly?” I told him this is the amazing power of Dafa! The whole family felt it was wonderful and once again witnessed the miraculous power of Falun Dafa.

I understand that Master endures so much for me. I am grateful for Master’s great mercy and compassion.
