(Minghui.org) A woman in Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, has been repeatedly targeted over the past few years for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Zhu Hui, around 73, was reported in 2020 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Lin Li, the head of the Meixian District Domestic Security Office, and six other officers raided her home. They confiscated a portrait of Falun Gong’s founder and a wall calendar with information about Falun Gong. Ms. Zhu was interrogated at the police station for hours. Before releasing her in the afternoon, the police ordered her to keep them informed of her whereabouts. Lin also warned her not to report what they’d done to her to Minghui.org.
The police arrested Ms. Zhu again ten days later and took her to the hospital for a physical exam. She was found to have several health issues. After keeping her in the police station overnight, they took her to the Jiaoling County Lockup the next morning for 15 day of detention. The person in charge of the lockup refused to admit her, so the police had to release her.
The police have harassed frequently Ms. Zhu ever since. When she went to take a train in 2021, she was stopped at the train station and searched. In 2022, the police harassed her at her childhood home. She was harassed again in late November 2023 at her current home. In February 2024, the police returned to her home and confiscated a portrait of Falun Gong’s founder and a wall calendar with information about Falun Gong.
