(Minghui.org) I met a truck driver in September 2023. When I talked to him about Falun Gong, he shared a story with me.
One summer day, his truck slipped into a mud hole and he couldn’t get it out. He saw a group of people passing by with shovels, so he asked them for help. But none of them would stop and just kept walking.
A little while later, a middle-aged man who also had a shovel walked by. When the driver asked him for help, the man came right over and cleared the mud under the wheels. He also helped the driver unload the goods from the truck.
After the driver moved the truck out of the hole, the man helped him load the goods back on the truck again.
“I was very grateful and offered him a pack of cigarettes,” the truck driver said. “But the man wouldn’t take it and just said, ‘It’s nothing; I’m a Falun Gong practitioner.’”
“Falun Gong is truly good! Falun Gong practitioners are truly kindhearted people!” the driver said. I could feel that these words came from the bottom of his heart.
I have a similar story. In 2010 a Falun Gong practitioner found an old leather briefcase on the side of the road near the paper flower market. Inside the briefcase was a bank check for 50,000 yuan, an ID card, and more than 100 yuan in cash. According to the address on the ID card, the owner was from Shaanxi Province
He waited for a long time, hoping the owner would show up, but nobody came to claim the briefcase. Since he had to go to work, he went to the home of an elderly practitioner, Zhao, and asked him to check out the local hotels and motels and see if he could find the owner.
Zhao went to a number of hotels in the township and learned that the owner of the briefcase had stayed in one of them a few days earlier but had already left. Zhao told the hotel about the briefcase and left his phone number. He also sent a letter by express delivery to the address on the ID card.
About ten days later, a man in his 30s showed up at Zhao’s home with his wife. When Zhao presented the briefcase to him, the man became very emotional and kept thanking him, because he had never expected to recover his money and the check. He tried to give Zhao 200 yuan for his kindness, but Zhao politely refused the offer. Instead, Zhao told the couple about Falun Gong and that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was wrong to persecute it. He encouraged them to quit the Pary and its affiliated organizations for a bright future. The couple agreed to quit the CCP organizations.
Had the CCP regime not persecuted Falun Gong, many more people would have taken up the practice and conducted themselves according to Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Just imagine what a beautiful society that would be—the Chinese people would certainly be living much happier lives.
