Tokyo, Japan: Witnesses Testify to the Chinese Regime’s Brutality on Human Rights Day

(Minghui.org) During a forum in Tokyo on Human Rights Day, December 10, 2024, 10 Falun Dafa practitioners described the suppression by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) they experienced. Cheng Peiming, an organ harvesting survivor, joined online and told his story.

From illegal arrest to detention, from torture to forced organ harvesting, speakers during the forum held at the Bunkyo Civic Center, which was hosted by the Falun Dafa Association, said that the CCP’s heinous crimes harmed them and their loved ones. They hope more people will awaken to these facts and join their efforts to expose and end the atrocities.

A forum was hosted by the Japanese Falun Dafa Association on 2024 Human Rights Day.

Subjected to Beatings, Electric Shocks, and Forced Drugging

Zhou Bin was beaten at least 100 times during the 12 years he was detained.

Zhou Bin said that Falun Dafa brought him good health. Because he refused to renounce Falun Dafa, he was detained and severely beaten. “One rib in my lower back was broken, two ribs in my chest were cracked, my left testicle was ruptured, the tendon in my right thumb was torn, and my ears were struck, causing pus to leak out for nearly six months,” he recalled.

In addition, Zhou had his blood forcibly drawn. When he was taken into custody, he was pushed to the ground by guards and his left clavicle was fractured. “During the twelve years of detention, I was beaten at least a hundred times for practicing Falun Dafa and for not giving up my faith,” he said.

Sun Jun said he was suffocated and his wife was forcibly drugged while they were detained.

When Sun Jun’s wife went on a hunger strike to protest her illegal detention, the prison guards pulled out all her teeth. “They also force-fed her poison. This led to confusion in her thinking. That is, she was unable to think normally. Another consequence was memory loss. All her memories were gone,” he said.

Sun was also imprisoned because he practiced Falun Dafa. “Guards covered my head with a plastic bag, and I was unable to breathe. They also beat my head and face with the soles of their boots,” he recalled. “They kept me in solitary confinement. Beatings and other types of torture were a norm.”

Zhang Shuli said guards often beat her with big bamboo sticks and police batons, and several bamboo sticks were broken. When the guards got tired, they shocked her head with electric batons. “As a result, my legs were all black and purple on both sides, hard like rocks,” she said. “My urine was pink because of the blood.”

Mr. Gong said his mother was detained for 12 years and she was arrested again in September 2024.

Because she practiced Falun Dafa, Mr. Gong’s mother became a major target for local police. She was repeatedly detained—12 years in total. “Because of this persecution she was forced to stay away from home and my family was broken,” Mr. Gong said. “This is just one example. There are countless tragedies like this across China because of the CCP’s persecution.”

While in detention, his mother was shocked with electric batons, hung up and beaten. “She was also sent to a mental hospital and forcibly injected with unknown drugs,” Mr. Sun continued. “As a result, her whole body was weak and she was unable to raise her head.” Unfortunately, she was arrested again in September 2024 and is currently detained.

The repeated suppression traumatized the children. Zhang Yiwen said her mother was arrested and detained numerous times in the past 25 years because she practiced Falun Dafa. “Since I was 9, the time mother spent with me totaled less than 5 years,” she explained.

Liu Yue also testified that her younger sister was detained. Besides being made to do forced labor in prison, practitioners were also killed for their organs. “The suppression has not only brought endless disasters to Chinese people, but also harmed the world,” Liu said.

Kentaro Inagaki, president of the Japanese Falun Dafa Association

Kentaro Inagaki is the president of the Japanese Falun Dafa Association. He hopes that more people will know about the CCP’s human rights violations against practitioners in China. “Each of us should think: what can we do to stop this and prevent it from happening again in the future? I also hope we can tell the people around us what’s happening and expose these atrocities.”

Organ Harvesting Survivor and Doctor Testify

Cheng Peiming, an organ harvesting survivor currently living the U.S., joined the forum through a video call and described his experience. While being detained in the Daqing Prison of Heilongjiang Province, he was sent to the Fourth Daqing Hospital, where part of his liver was removed. That was on November 16, 2004. After fleeing to the U.S., he underwent numerous physical examinations which confirmed that part of his liver and lung had been removed.

One doctor involved in the examination also joined the video call. Through X-rays, MRI's, and CT scans, the doctors found Cheng’s left lung was elevated and half of the left lower lobe had been cut out in order to remove the liver. “One characteristic of the liver is that it can regenerate. After one part is removed, the remaining part will grow to replenish the missing section,” the doctor explained. “We can see that the two lobes of the liver had regenerated. Two lobes of the liver grew to the left and the right lobe grew downward.”

Attendees: A Crime We Cannot Ignore

Former parliament member Hirosato Nakatsugawa

Hirosato Nakatsugawa, a former parliament member, said the CCP is known for human rights violations against the Chinese people. “But this also affects other countries and every one of us,” he explained. “The victims of human rights abuse also include children and people with disabilities. In other words, as human beings these are our basic rights.

“We absolutely cannot ignore these crimes,” Nakatsugawa said, adding we should stop them from continuing.

Ms. Sawaoka, who works for a Japanese multinational company, was in tears while listening to these tragedies. “Although I’ve read and heard about the persecution Falun Dafa practitioners experienced, this is the first time I’ve heard testimony from witnesses. These vivid descriptions are shocking – these crimes are indeed inhumane,” she said. She said she would do her best to help bring this to an end.
