(Minghui.org) Two sisters in Meizhou City, Guangdong Province are facing indictment for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Luo Suling, in her 60s, was arrested at the Huizhou City Train Station on July 18, 2024, while en route to Zhuhai City in the same province (which is about 200 miles to the south of Huizhou). The railroad police targeted her after paper currency printed with information about Falun Gong was found in her luggage during security checks. She was detained in Huizhou, and the Huizhou police also traveled about 180 miles north to her home in Meizhou to raid her place three times.
Her younger sister, Ms. Luo Suya, 61, was arrested at home by four officers from Huizhou City, a little past 7 a.m. on July 30, 2024. A copy of Zhuan Falun, a media player and 100 yuan paper currency printed with Falun Gong information were confiscated. The police promised to release her three days later, only to keep her in custody when the time was up.
Both sisters were later taken back to Meizhou and are now held at the local Chengdong Detention Center. Their arrests have been approved by the local procuratorate.
