(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 4 cities or counties in 2 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Beijing] The Original Verdict Is Upheld Against Disabled Mr. Liu Boxin

4. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Guilan and Ms. Zhang Shuhua Arrested
5. [Beijing] Ms. Gong Ruiping Abused in Prison
1. [Beijing] The Original Verdict Is Upheld Against Disabled Mr. Liu Boxin
Mr. Liu Boxin, who is disabled, refused to accept the verdict and appealed to the Beijing No. 1 Intermediate Court. The court recently upheld the original verdict.
2. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Harassed
In November and December 2023, practitioners in Shahe Town, Tushan Town, and Haiyang City, were harassed by officers from local police stations and village committees. Some were forced to write guarantee statements, and some had their pictures taken.
On November 2, 2023, the Changshengjie Village Committee in Shahe Town together with government officials, asked Ms. Wang Xiuying to go to the Changsheng Brigade to write a guarantee statement and sign it. In mid-November, they went to Ms. Zhang Baoyan’s home on Jiaotong Street in Shahe Town. They said that they came to her home with someone from Yantai City, who needed to put her signature on file. Her husband said that she stopped practicing Falun Gong years ago. When she did not sign anything, they left.
On November 29, a group of people went to Ms. Xu Zhenqin’s home in Dongdai Village, Tushan Town. They asked whether she still practiced Falun Gong.
In mid-November, Ms. Wang Xueju in Xiaohan Village, Shahe Town, was asked over the phone to go to the brigade office and sign a guarantee statement that she would not practice Falun Gong.
On December 12, Ms. Sun Yuling in Tanjia Village, Tushan Town, was photographed at her home.
On November 29, a group of people went to Ms. Sun Songmei’s home in Xiheya Village, Haiyang City, and told her that she would not be allowed to go out and talk to people about Falun Gong. They photographed her and left.
In early November, Ms. Dong Liyuan in Xixue Village, Tushan Town, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in a supermarket. She was detained by officers from the Tushan Town Police Station. They ransacked her home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books. They arranged for her release on bail. When Ms. Dong refused to sign the paperwork, her husband was pressured into signing it on her behalf.
3. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Hanchun Harassed
Nanshu Town government official Ma Hongjie led about seven people to break into Mr. Liu Hanchun’s home in a residential community on the morning of December 16, 2023. They started taking photos and videos. After they left, they called in three police officers, who asked Mr. Liu to open the door. When he refused they tore off the “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” couplet and “Blissfulness” paper cutout that was posted on his door.
4. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Guilan and Ms. Zhang Shuhua Arrested
Ms. Liu Guilan and Ms. Zhang Shuhua were arrested around 7 p.m. on December 23, 2023. Ms. Zhang was released, and Ms. Liu was taken to a detention center.
5. [Beijing] Ms. Gong Ruiping Abused in Prison
Ms. Gong Ruiping was sentenced to five and a half years in prison by the Pinggu District Court on February 21, 2022, and fined 11,000 yuan. She is currently being held in the Tiantanghe Women’s Prison in the Daxing District. According to people who are aware of her situation, Ms. Gong was abused and deprived of sleep.
