“Hope and Light in the Darkness and Helplessness”

Hiroshi Yano, a Japanese company owner, went to see Shen Yun in Kyoto on January 3 after a friend recommended it.

After a deadly earthquake in Japan on January 1, Mr. Yano was aware of the impermanence of life.

“Seeing Shen Yun, I felt that I could see hope and light in the darkness and helplessness. This is very important for human beings today,” he said.

“It’s really important for us to see such a performance and gain energy from it now,” he added.

Mr. Yano has experience with TV production, so he understands the work that goes into putting together a performance of Shen Yun’s caliber.

“I know that it is very hard for such a large group of people to perform such a superb show. This unified and energetic performance really surprised me, and I was impressed throughout the whole performance,” said Mr. Yano.

“I have been engaged in music, and conducting is the hardest part because you have to have absolute control of the timing.

“The dynamic background display method was really unique. There is nothing like it in Japan. Using this method to tell stories, you can have unlimited expansion of the background,” he said.

“A Very Profound Culture with a Long History”

Kiyokazu Nagahara, the CEO of GA Inc., saw Shen Yun in Tokyo on December 28.

“This is a very profound culture with a long history. From a culture like this, I feel that it is not okay to not have a kind heart,” he said.

“Beauty of China in Various Forms”

Yukihisa Oikawa, a well-known international political commentator and writer in Japan, saw Shen Yun in Tokyo on December 27.

“It feels like I have experienced thousands of years of history in a short period of time. In short, I think Shen Yun has shown the beauty of China in various forms,” he said.

Military expert Toshiki Kaji saw Shen Yun in Tokyo on December 28.

Osamu Kobori, the president of a nonprofit organization, saw Shen Yun in Kyoto on January 4.

“A culture of thousands of years bloomed and bore fruit on Shen Yun’s stage... Whether it was choreography or costume design, they all demonstrated extremely high artistic level. I’m curious as to who designed it. The different kinds of costumes designs were excellent!” he said.

“Horizontal and vertical spins, and difficult techniques like back flips were truly amazing. I can feel the amazing physicality of the dancers, as well as the cohesion of the team. Everyone’s gestures were in such synchrony. It was like heavenly maidens have come to earth. I’m moved. This is truly outstanding. The program was not only thought provoking, but also touchingly expressive,” he said.

“Inner Beauty”

Daito, the owner of a shipping company, saw Shen Yun in Sakai on January 14.

“The flexibility and fluidity of the movements were unprecedented. That inner beauty that was presented was also indescribable. This inner beauty was emitted through movements and dance gestures,” he said.

“They Must Have Support from the Divine”

Chinese audience member Ms. Zhao saw Shen Yun in Osaka on January 16.

“They were all celestial beings and celestial maidens on stage. This dance and music must exist in heaven. They must have support from the divine,” Ms. Zhao said.

“This show made me undergo a big change from inside out. A kind of shocking change. To be able to bring people this great of a change, it must be purely kind and purely beautiful. So I’m very touched and awestruck, and more so feel full of hope for the future,” she said.
