(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Haihong Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

7. [Jianli City, Hubei Province] Ms. Dai Jiaolian Arrested and Detained

11. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Mr. Qu Zhonghe Arrested and Detained
1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Haihong Sentenced to Two Years in Prison
Ms. Zhang Haihong was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan by the Chaoyang District Court in early November 2023. She appealed in late December 2023 and the case was filed in the Changchun City Intermediate Court.
2. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Sun Yuke Detained Imprisoned
Sun Yuku (gender unknown) from Qilu Petrochemical Company was transferred to the Jinan Prison on December 20, 2023.
3. [Duyun City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Fu Youyan Arrested and Detained
Ms. Fu Youyan is an owner of a beauty salon along a street in the Xiyuan Community. When she and eight other practitioners gathered in the salon to read Zhuan Falun on December 27, 2023, twelve police rushed in and arrested them. Ms. Fu Youyan and Ms. Chen Lian were taken to the Qiannan Prefecture Women’s Prison and the others were released later that day. Ms. Chen was found to have high blood pressure and was released at midnight. Ms. Fu is still detained there.
4. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested and Detained
Four practitioners from Tai’an Community, Ms. Zhang Shufen, Ms. Gu Jiumei, Ms. Liang Guijuan and elderly Ms. Wang, were arrested by police in the Xi’an District on October 17, 2023. Ms. Wang was detained for 10 days. The other three were placed under criminal detention and sent to the Laoyuan City Detention Center.
5. [Beijing] The Case Against Ms. Yu Xuelan Submitted to the Procuratorate
Ms. Yu Xuelan, 72, from Fengtai District, was arrested at home by officers from the Yangqiao Police Station and the Fengtai District Police Department on April 28, 2023 for hanging banners on April 25, 2023. She was taken to the Fengtai District Detention Center but was denied admission due to her health.
Ms. Yu has been constantly harassed since then. Her family received a call from the Fengtai District Procuratorate at the end of December 2023, demanding that she go to the procuratorate. Ms. Yu did not go. The police came to her home twice in January 2024 and pressured her to sign some paperwork, which she refused.
6. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yuan Guijun Harassed
Ms. Yuan Guijun was stopped by two community staff members at the gate of the residential community on the morning of December 12, 2023. They took photos of her without her consent.
7. [Jianli City, Hubei Province] Ms. Dai Jiaolian Arrested and Detained
Ms. Dai Jiaolian was arrested on the morning of January 8, 2024 for talking about Falun Gong in Chengji Town. She was first taken to the Chengji Town Police Station and then to the Jianli Detention House. She has been detained there since then.
8. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Niu Lina Arrested and Detained
Ms. Niu Lina was arrested in 2022 and was placed under 5-day detention, which was not executed due to the COVID pandemic. For this reason, she was arrested on December 20, 2023 and was detained 5 days in the Jilin City Detention House.
9. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Yanmei Harassed Constantly
After Ms. Wang Yanmei from Yaojiayuan Village in the Chaoyang District was arrested on April 21, 2023 and detained, she has been constantly harassed by officers from the Pingfang Police Station. They make harassing calls or come to her home to search for anything related to Falun Gong. The latest incident happened on January 18, 2024. Officer Wang Kaihua came to her home with a body camera recording his visit.
10. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ling Haijie Arrested
Ms. Ling Haijie, in her 50s, from Yangjiazhangzi Development Zone, was followed by plainclothes officers and was later arrested by officers from the Yangjiazhangzi Police Station on the morning of January 17, 2024. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated two laptops, one printer, Falun Gong books, and other items. Ms. Yang is currently detained in the police station.
11. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Mr. Qu Zhonghe Arrested and Detained
Mr. Qu Zhonghe was arrested at home by officers from the Dafangsheng Town Police Station and the Dehui Police Department on January 17, 2024. He was placed under 3-day detention.
