(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Practitioner Liu Zhanqi Taken to Prison

4. [Fuyu City, Jilin Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
5. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Qing Officially Arrested
6. [Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Lu Xiulin Arrested
7. [Xilinhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Yufen Arrested
8. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Yongqing Held in Detention Center
1. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Liu Zhanqi Taken to Prison
Liu Zhanqi (gender unknown) was missing in the first half of 2021, and it was later reported that Liu was arrested and held in a detention center. A practitioner who was released from Lanzhou Prison in the Dashaping area said that Liu was sentenced to three years in prison and is held in Lanzhou Prison.
2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liao Hui Taken to Prison
Mr. Liao Hui from Wuchang District was arrested and his home was ransacked by officers from the Baishazhou Police Station for distributing Falun Gong materials during the COVID pandemic in 2020. He was later released on bail and placed under residential surveillance.
On August 4, 2023, Mr. Liao was coaxed into going to the police station, and he was taken to the Wuchang District Detention Center. On September 20, he was taken to Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang County.
3. [Wugong County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Xu Lanxia Arrested
Ms. Xu Lanxia was arrested by officers from the Wugong Town Police Station while she was distributing Falun Gong materials at the annual Hetangu County Fair in Wugong Town. Her current situation is unknown.
4. [Fuyu City, Jilin Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Officers from the Fuyu City Domestic Security Division and various police stations launched an all-out campaign to arrest practitioners in December 2023. This time, 11 practitioners were arrested. The police entered the practitioners’ homes without any explanation, ransacked them, and confiscated their Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. Based on incomplete statistics, the following practitioners were arrested, and nearly all of them were detained.
Ms. Wei Chunyan from Xisanjiazi Village, Dasanjiazi Township, was arrested by officers from the Taolaizhao Police Station. After she was held for 12 days, she was taken to Songyuan City Detention Center.
Ms. Xu Lihua from Chaoyang Village, Taolaizhao Town, was detained for 12 days.
Ma Yonghua and Ms. Zhang Xia from Xin’anzhen Village, were arrested by officers from Sanchahe Town Police Station and detained for six days.
Zhou Hongzhu, from Xiaoshibahao Village, Caijiagou Town, was arrested by officers from the Caijiagou Town Police Station and detained for five days.
Ms. Zhao Guiqin, who lives on Xinan Street, Fuyu City, was arrested by officers from the Xinan Street Police Station and detained for five days.
Ma Shijie from Pingchuan Village, Yongping Township, was arrested by officers from the Yongping Township Police Station, detained for 12 days, and then taken to Songyuan City Detention Center for criminal detention.
Ms. Qiu, in her 60s, from Changchunling Town, was arrested by officers from the Changchunling Town Police Station and detained for six days.
Xu Wanfu, from Shan Village, Lalinxiang Town, suffers from congenital heart disease and is physically disabled. Xu was arrested by officers from the Gongpengzi Town Police Station and detained for six days.
Zhang Youjie from Shuanglongquan Village, Xinchengju Township, was arrested by officers from the Xinchengju Township Police Station. Zhang could not eat in the detention center and his or her health was in danger. Zhang was released three days later.
Zhu Decai, who lives on Shiying Street, Fuyu City, was arrested by officers from the Yucai Police Station and detained for 14 days.
All the above arrested and detained Falun Gong practitioners have returned home.
5. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Qing Officially Arrested
Zhang Aiqun, head of the Dongzhou District Domestic Security Division, and deputy head Zhang Zhe, led a team to stake out and arrest Mr. Lu Qing on October 19, 2023. Mr. Lu was arrested 80 days ago.
According to Mr. Lu’s lawyer, who met with him, Mr. Lu developed sleep disorders. His family asked the officers in charge of his case to release him on bail. The family’s bail application was submitted to Dongzhou District Procuratorate. The procuratorate did not approve the bail. Instead, it approved Mr. Lu’s arrest.
6. [Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Lu Xiulin Arrested
Ms. Lu Xiulin, 70, was arrested in Dongsheng District on December 26, 2023. Several officers broke into her home and ransacked the place, on the grounds that she posted Falun Gong informational stickers.
7. [Xilinhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Yufen Arrested
Ms. Li Yufen was reported to the police for giving people Falun Gong materials in a store on January 9, 2024. She was arrested and held in a detention center.
8. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Yongqing Held in Detention Center
Ms. Zhang Yongqing was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Xiangyang City Domestic Security Division on September 1, 2023, where she is still held.
