(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 22 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Sifeng Detained
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] The Case Against Ms. Xiao Kun Returned to the Police
3. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Sui Guoyan Arrested and Detained
4. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Wang Ruding Arrested and Detained
5. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Seven Practitioners Harassed
6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Luo Chungui Released from Prison
7. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tian Lisa Sentenced to Nine Years in Prison
1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Sifeng Detained
Mr. Zhang Sifeng from Hanyang District, 70, was arrested by officers in the Qiaokou District at the end of November 2023. He was taken to a detention house and was later transferred to a brainwashing center by staff from the Jianqiao Street Office and Hanyang District 610 Office.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] The Case Against Ms. Xiao Kun Returned to the Police
Ms. Xiao Kun was arrested by several officers from the Acheng District Police Department on August 23, 2023. She was sent to the No. 2 Detention Center of Harbin City. Her case was submitted to the Acheng District Procuratorate, but was recently returned to the police department.
3. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Sui Guoyan Arrested and Detained
Sui Guoyan (gender unknown), 58, was reported to police by a relative’s son for talking to his family about Falun Gong, and was arrested by officers from the Hushan Village Police Station on December 29, 2023. Four officers from the Kuandian County Police Department went to her home and confiscated the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a Falun Gong article and a pendant. Sui was detained for 10 days in the Dandong City Detention House.
4. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Wang Ruding Arrested and Detained
Mr. Wang Ruding was arrested and detained for 10 days in the Yuzhong Detention House from December 13 to 23, 2023. He was suspected of putting up posters on the pillars of the overpass on May 13, 2023. The posters were printed with words such as, “Falun Dafa is good!” “Happy Birthday to Master!” “Celebrate the 31th Anniversary of Falun Dafa,” etc.
5. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Seven Practitioners Harassed
Five practitioners, Wang Jiulan, Shi Meiqin, Liu Xiu, Wu Binghua, and Yue Wanying, were harassed at home by Officer Gao from the Tuchengzi Police Station in Kangbao County in late November 2023.
Wang Cuilan and Wang Fang were harassed at home recently by officers from the Lujiaying Township Police Station in Kangbao County. The police videotaped and took photos and audio recordings.
6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Luo Chungui Released From Prison
Mr. Luo Chungui was released on December 25, 2023 after being detained for two years and six months in the Dongling Prison, in Shenyang City.
7. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tian Lisa Sentenced to Nine Years in Prison
Ms. Tian Lisa from Wendeng District was arrested along with eight other practitioners on July 20, 2022. All nine practitioners were tried in the Rongcheng City Court on August 24, 2023. Ms. Tian Lisa was sentenced to nine years in prison. She has appealed to the intermediate court.
Ms. Tian and her sister-in-law Ms. Li Shuhong were arrested at the same time. Ms. Tian took care of their father, who is in his 90s, before her arrest. The old man’s son, Mr. Tian Shihong, is Ms. Li Shuhong’s husband. He was a practitioner and was persecuted to death.
A few years ago, Ms. Tian tried several times to visit her son, who was studying in the U.S., but the police kept interfering. She was even intercepted at the airport by police.
