(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Wang Hongping Tried in the Court

4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Xiaoguang Arrested and Detained
5. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Shuang Sentenced to One Year in Prison
6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ding Zhanjiang Arrested
7. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Hongli Arrested and Detained
8. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] The Case Against Ms. Liang Jun and Ms. Hong Yanrong Submitted to the Procuratorate
9. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Harassed
10. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] The Case Against Mr. Zhao Jun Sent to the Procuratorate
1. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Wang Hongping Tried in Court
Ms. Wang Hongping, in her 40s, is an English teacher in the North Branch of Hefei University of Technology. She was taken into custody and detained in a brainwashing center some time ago. Her case was submitted to the Shushan District Court. She was recently tried in court.
2. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] The Case Against Four Practitioners Submitted to the Procuratorate
The case against four practitioners was submitted to the procuratorate on December 4, 2023. The practitioners are Ms. He Zhuojun, Mr. Leng Shunchang, Ms. Peng Huayun, and Ms. Gong Taiqing. Ms. He Zhuojun is currently on a hunger strike and is very weak.
3. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhong Siping Arrested and Detained
Mr. Zhong Siping is a retiree from the Shengli Oilfield. He was arrested by officers from the Binhai Police Department on December 27, 2023, and was placed under a 14-day detention.
4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Xiaoguang Arrested and Detained
Mr. Chen Xiaoguang was arrested on September 20, 2023. He is currently detained in the Shenbei New District Detention Center.
5. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Shuang Sentenced to One Year in Prison
Ms. Li Shuang was tried in the Youhao District Court on December 26, 2023, and was sentenced to one year in prison. She will be transferred to prison on January 13, 2024.
6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ding Zhanjiang Arrested
Ding Zhanjiang (gender unknown) from Acheng District was arrested at home on the evening of December 25, 2023, and was released around midnight.
7. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Hongli Arrested and Detained
Ms. Wang Hongli from Ningjiang District was arrested by three officers including Ma Yan from the Jinghu Police Station and Zhao from the Ningjiang District Police Department on December 8, 2023. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated a computer, a cell phone, a USB driver and some Falun Gong books and articles. Ms. Wang was detained for 15 days and was released on December 23, 2023.
8. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] The Case Against Ms. Liang Jun and Ms. Hong Yanrong Submitted to the Procuratorate
Ms. Liang Jun and Ms. Hong Yanrong were arrested on July 14, 2023, and sent to the Qinhuangdao City Detention Center. Their case was submitted to the Funing District Procuratorate.
9. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Yang Yanduan from Xinhuang County, in her 70s, was harassed by officers from Yushi Town 610 Office on the afternoon of December 25, 2023. When they tried to photograph Ms. Yang, she refused to cooperate.
Ms. Lu Jufeng was harassed by some people including Zhang Ding from the Qiaonan Community Office on the morning of December 26, 2023. They photographed her.
Ms. Yuan Qunzhi was harassed by the Xincun Village officials on December 26, 2023, and photos were taken.
Mr. Zhang Shiliang was warned by a village committee member in his work unit and told not to surf the Internet.
10. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] The Case Against Mr. Zhao Jun Sent to the Procuratorate
Mr. Zhao Jun was arrested by officers from the Xin’an Police Station on February 14, 2021, and was placed under 15-day detention. Because of the pandemic, he was denied admission by the detention center.
Officers from the Xin’an Police Station tried to take Mr. Zhao to the detention center in early December 2022 but he was denied admission again due to his high blood pressure. He was placed under residential surveillance. His case was later submitted to the procuratorate.
Mr. Zhao was taken to the Aimin Procuratorate on March 21, 2023, for sending a letter to Procurator Zhang Nianhui on March 14, 2023. He was interrogated and taken to the detention center. He was again denied admission due to his poor health.
It was recently learned that the procuratorate has indicted Mr. Zhao.
