1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Caiyun Faces Second Trial
Ms. Wang Caiyun, in her 70s, was tried in the Fushun City Detention Center by Dongzhou District Court at 1:30 p.m. on July 12, 2023.
Dongzhou District Court has scheduled another trial for Ms. Wang in the detention center at 1:30 p.m. on September 11, 2023.
2. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Xiaoling Sentenced to Prison
Ms. He Xiaoling was arrested at home by officers from the Suji Police Station on September 8, 2023. That same day, she was secretly tried by the Leshan City Court, sentenced to 18 months in prison, and taken to the Leshan City Detention Center.
Ms. He went on a hunger strike in protest. She was very weak and was taken to the Leshan Red Cross Hospital.
Ms. He went to the Luxin Police Station to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to police officers on November 2, 2022. She was arrested and taken to the Suji Police Station. She was released on bail that day. In April 2023, Ms. He was summoned to the procuratorate to sign the indictment.
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Guihua Held in Brainwashing Center
Ms. Liu Guihua from Jiang’an District was caught on surveillance cameras while distributing Falun Gong materials. She was arrested and held in the Erzhigou Detention Center for 15 days before the 610 Office took her to a brainwashing center on September 1, 2023.
4. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yuan Qingshan Arrested
Mr. Yuan Qingshan was arrested on September 9, 2023. His home was ransacked, and all his Falun Gong related items were confiscated.
5. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Song Yanqun’s Prison Term Extended
Ms. Song Yanqun was supposed to return home from prison on September 9, 2023. Her family learned from prison officials that Shulan City Court extended Ms. Song’s prison term by two weeks.
6. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xiuzhi Detained
Ms. Wang Xiuzhi from Yu County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, was arrested on August 14, 2023, by officers from the Huquan Police Station in Guangling County, Datong City, Shanxi Province. She was detained for 15 days and returned home on August 30.
7. [Ningyuan County, Hunan Province] Ms. Zheng Runfeng Arrested
Ms. Zheng Runfeng was caught on surveillance cameras while distributing Falun Gong materials and was arrested on the afternoon of August 29, 2023.
8. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Changhai Arrested
Mr. Li Changhai was arrested by officers from the Xin’an Police Station in Longtan District on September 7, 2023, but was released due to high blood pressure. He was told to go to the police station on September 12.
9. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Guizhi Harassed
Officers from the Xiong County Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Zhang Guizhi’s home and harassed her around 8 a.m. on September 4, 2023. They called several more officers to her home in an attempt to arrest her. She tried to reason with them, and then suddenly passed out. When they saw she lost consciousness, the officers left.
