(Minghui.org) It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that a resident of Daxing’anling Prefecture, Heilongjiang Province had been transferred to the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison (located in the capital city of Harbin) after she was secretly sentenced to three years in prison.

Ms. Wang Jinrong, 65, was arrested in March 2022 for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999. The police never notified her family of her arrest and it took her loved ones one month to find out from an insider that she was held at the Jiagedaqi District Detention Center.

Ms. Wang’s family recently learned of her prison transfer, but they have no idea of when she was indicted, tried, or sentenced.

Past Persecution

Before taking up Falun Gong, Ms. Wang fought with her husband all the time and was on the verge of divorcing him. Both she and her son also suffered from poor health. After she took up Falun Gong, she mended the strained relationship with her husband by following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She was able to enjoy a happy marriage and good health for the first time in decades. Her son also became healthier and had more energy for schoolwork. He was later admitted to a four-year college, a feat unimaginable in the past given his prior academic performance. Ms. Wang knew that her son was also blessed by Falun Gong.

Because of her positive experience with Falun Gong, Ms. Wang never wavered in her faith after the persecution began in 1999. Prior to her latest ordeal, she was previously twice arrested and held in local detention centers. One of the prior detentions was followed by a one-year incarceration at the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center.

Starting in May 2020, Zeng Fanhui, secretary of the Songling District Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC), called Ms. Wang’s son and younger brother many times, threatening to make their life difficult and put her in jail if they failed to make her renounce Falun Gong.

The PLAC is an extrajudicial agency tasked with overseeing the persecution of Falun Gong. It has branches at every level of the government.

Two people knocked on Ms. Wang’s door in late September 2020 and claimed to be her son’s friends. She didn’t open the door and learned later the two people were from the PLAC. The next day Zeng came himself and ordered her to sign statements to renounce Falun Gong. She refused to sign and urged him to stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners like her. He then left.

In mid-October 2020, Zeng and his wife showed up at Ms. Wang’s home again. They also summoned her son to come. Zeng threatened to talk to her son and daughter-in-law’s respective employers. Ms. Wang held firm to her faith, and Zeng left.

Two days later, two officers indeed went to her son’s workplace and pressured his supervisor to make him talk to her about renouncing Falun Gong. Ms. Wang told her son she’d never give up her belief.

The relentless harassment of Ms. Wang’s son and daughter-in-law also drove a wedge between them. Once a happy couple, they now quarrel all the time.
