(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Ximin and His Wife Ms. Du Qingxiu Face Trial
Mr. Han Ximin and his wife Ms. Du Qingxiu were arrested near their home on May 12, 2023, by Beita District Police Department officers. They were taken to the Chaoyang City Detention Center and their case was submitted to the Shuangta District Court. They will be tried in the detention center at 9 a.m. on August 15, 2023.
2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xiuying Faces Trial
Ms. Wang Xiuying will be tried in the Yuhong District Court on August 16, 2023. The presiding judge Ge Lidan refused the request to have her family member defend her in court. He appointed an assistant lawyer.
3. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Guorong’s Case Submitted to the Procuratorate
Ms. Yang Guorong from the Zhifu District was arrested on November 13, 2022. She was intercepted by a police car. They searched her bag and found information about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. She was later released on bail pending trial.
Her son was called by officer Zhou Lin from the Fenghuangtai Police Station on August 1, 2023, informing that his mother’s case had been submitted to the procuratorate.
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Shi Wenzhuo Secretly Tried
Shi Wenzhou’s family received a call on August 11, 2023, informing them that Shi had been tried. The trial was secret and the family did not receive the hearing notice (as required by law).
5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lin Ping Arrested and Detained
Ms. Lin Ping, 76, was reported to the police for talking about Falun Gong to a passerby and was arrested by officers from the Ganjingzi Airport Police Station on April 25, 2023. Her home was ransacked. She was released that evening.
Ms. Lin was taken from her home to the Yaojia Detention Center by Ganjingzi Airport Police Station officers on August 7, 2023. She was placed under criminal detention.
6. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Guodong Arrested and Detained
Mr. Sun Guodong, 69, from Cao County, was arrested by officers from the Panshi Police Station in Cao County on August 6, 2023. He was taken to the Cao County Detention House.
7. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Kuilan Arrested
Ms. Wang Kuilan, 76, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on August 8, 2023. The police went to her home on August 9, 2023, ransacked it, and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a computer, and 4000 yuan with information about Falun Gong printed on the bills. Ms. Wang was arrested by Dawangguzhuang Police Station officers in the Wuqing District at 10 a.m. on August 10, 2023.
8. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Hongyun Arrested and Detained
Ms. Li Hongyun was arrested at her home in Jiuhe New Village, Houcun Town, Quzhou County, on August 2, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and truth-clarifying materials. Ms. Li was admitted to the Quzhou County Detention Center.
9. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cao Guiying Arrested and Detained
Ms. Cao Guiying from Cangshan Town of Zhongjiang County was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. Cangshan Town Police Station officers arrested her on July 24, 2023. She was detained for 15 days in the Zhongjiang County Detention Center and was released on August 8, 2023.
10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Zhaoxin Arrested
Several police officers went to Mr. Zhang Zhaoxin’s home in Nuanquan Village, Wujia Town, at 7:40 a.m. on August 2, 203. They ransacked it and confiscated more than 10 Falun Gong books. Mr. Zhang and his non-practitioner wife were taken to the Wujia Town Police Station and interrogated. Their cell phones were checked and Mr. Zhang was photographed. The police tried to make Mr. Zhang sign some statements but he refused. He was released that afternoon.
11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Practitioners Yang Hua, Zhao Lihua, and Hong Ying were arrested at 4 p.m. on July 28, 2023, for distributing information about Falun Gong. Hong Yin was released on July 29, 2023. Yang Hua and Zhao Lihua were released on August 8, 2023.
12. [Mo Banner, Inner Mongolia] Zhang Youguang Arrested
Zhang Youguang was arrested a month ago for talking to people about Falun Gong.
13. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Zengmei Released
Ms. Wang Zengmei was released on bail pending trial from the Pudong Detention Center in Jimo City on August 10, 2023.
14. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] Ms. Di Lianxia Arrested
Ms. Di Lianxia returned home in early August 2023 after she left home to avoid being persecuted. She was recently arrested again.
15. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Lu Xiuqiong Harassed
Ms. Lu Xiuqiong from the Hedong New District, in her 70s, received a call from a police officer in Pengxi County at 4 p.m. on August 1, 2023. The next morning an officer in a police uniform came to her home, found a Falun Gong book in her son’s room, and told Ms. Lu to hold the book while he photographed her. He then confiscated the book. Two officers went to her home on the afternoon of August 3, 2023. They knocked on her door but Ms. Lu did not open it. The police returned with her photo the next day and asked about her in the community.
16. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Zhu Mingdi Admitted to Prison
Zhu Mingdi from the Xiangfang District was admitted to Hulan Prison on July 20, 2023.
17. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tong Jing Arrested
When Ms. Tong Jing and her 80-year-old mother went to apply for a passport at the Fushun City Police Department on August 9, 2023, Ms. Tong was arrested. She is being held in the Fushun City Detention Center.
