(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. E Yuzhi Tried

Ms. E Yuzhi, 74, was arrested by officers from the Guchengzi Police Station in April 2022 when she distributed information about Falun Gong in Wulaotun, Wanghua District. She was later released on bail pending trial for one year. Ms. E has been constantly harassed since then. She was tried in the Wanghua District Court on July 10, 2023, and was taken to the Nangou Detention Center that evening.

2. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Caiying Detained

Ms. Xu Caiying was arrested at her home in Zhongjia Village, Fengtai Sub-district by officers from the Pingdu City Police Department on the afternoon of July 3, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her computer, printer, cell phone, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. Ms. Xu was taken to the No. 2 Detention Center of Qingdao City.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Wang Chongyang Arrested

Wang Chongyang from North District was arrested at home by eleven police officers at 4 a.m. on July 18, 2023. The police confiscated two computers, a printer, and other items.

4. [Tianjin] Ms. Ran Guanquan Arrested

Officers from the Xiangyang Police Station in Tanggu District went to Ms. Ran Guanquan’s home at 9 a.m. on July 10, 2023. After she refused to open the door, they went to Ms. Ran’s daughter-in-law and opened the door. Ms. Ran was taken to the police station and was pressured to sign some documents. She refused. She was released around 5 p.m. that day.

5. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Qu Hongmei from Hujingguan Village was harassed by officers including Wang Hongxing from the local police station and village official Hu Fengchi on June 29, 2023. They confiscated her Falun Gong books. Ms. Qu was released later. Officer Wang Hongxing and three other officers returned and harassed Ms. Qu again on July 17, 2023.

Dongmei (surname not known at this time) and her sister-in-law live in Xiaozhang Village, Xiaozhang Township, Zaoqiang County. The police harassed them at home and confiscated Falun Gong books from Dongmei’s home and a media player from her sister-in-law’s home.

6. [Tianjin] Ms. Yao Zhifeng Harassed

Ms. Yao Zhifeng, 72, was harassed at home in Xiaoyangzhuang Village in Hebeitun Town by several people including Gao Jin from Wuqing District Procuratorate and two officers from the Daliang Town Police Station, on May 25, 2023. They photographed and videotaped her, and pressured her to give up Falun Gong. Ms. Yao refused to cooperate. She has now left home to avoid further persecution.

7. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Guifen Detained

Ms. Xu Guifen was arrested and taken to the Chaoyang District Detention Center on July 6, 2023. She was placed under criminal arrest on July 16, 2023.

8. [Xingyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Niu Huiqing Arrested and Detained

Ms. Niu Huiqing was arrested on the way to work in mid-June 2023. She was detained for 15 days and was released on July 6, 2023.

9. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Li Yifang, 73, was harassed at home by five officers in Anju District one day in April 2023. The police used a master key to enter her home. They ransacked her home and confiscated a box of Falun Gong books. Ms. Li later found that her social security payment was suspended. Three officers went to harass Ms. Li again on May 29, 2023, and confiscated several Falun Gong books. They tried to photograph her but she refused.

Du Changpei and Yu Qiongzhen were also harassed by police in May 2023. Their photos of Falun Gong's founder were confiscated.

10. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xie Hankui Tried

Mr. Xie Hankui from the Meijiang District was tried in the Meixian District Court on July 13, 2023. The hearing lasted from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Mr. Xie’s wife was not allowed to enter the court room. His son went inside when the trial began but was later kicked out.

11. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Nie Yan Detained

Ms. Nie Yan, 64, a retired teacher from Lihua Primary School, was arrested by officers from the Weixing Road Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was placed under official arrest and was sent to the Weizigou Detention Center.

12. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Detained

Three practitioners, Ms. Shi Yujie, Ms. Dong Haiyan, and Ms. Chen Shuling, were arrested by officers from the Wuyi Road Police Station on April 20, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were sent to the Zhangjiakou Detention Center.

13. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Luo Fenghua Arrested and Detained

Ms. Luo Fenghua, 71, was reported to police for talking to four young people about Falun Gong near Tongtai Street on June 27, 2023. She was arrested and taken to a police station. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the No. 4 Detention Center of Changsha City.

14. [Tianjin] Ms. Pan Arrested and Detained

Ms. Pan from Shuangjie Town in Beichen District was arrested by officers from the Xititou Police Station on July 18, 2023. She is currently detained in the Beichen District Detention Center.

15. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xia Jingmin Arrested and Detained

Ms. Xia Jingmin from Quyang County was arrested on the afternoon of June 28, 2023, for talking about Falun Gong in a parents’ meeting. She was tied to a metal chair for one day and one night in the police station. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Xia was detained for 14 days.

16. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Jin Shengxiao Arrested

Jin Shengxiao was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in a bus station and was arrested at the end of June 2023 or early July 2023. The police ransacked Jin’s home and confiscated some personal belongings. Jin has returned home.
