(Minghui.org) Practitioners held activities at the Plaza San Sebastián in Cartagena on July 29, 2023, to introduce Falun Dafa. Through posters and exercise demonstrations, they explained what the practice is and how it is persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Located on the coast in southeastern Spain, Cartagena is an important naval site on the Mediterranean coast. A historic city dating back to the Roman Empire, Cartagena is well known for its beaches, museums, and ancient buildings. After hearing how Falun Dafa practitioners are mistreated in China for their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, many people signed a petition to end the CCP persecution that includes forced organ harvesting.

After reading the posters and pamphlets, three young men said they were shocked by the CCP’s atrocities, especially forced organ harvesting. One of them exclaimed, “This is horrible! We have to stop it!”

In addition to signing the petition, they talked with a practitioner and asked about Falun Dafa. When they were told about how it benefits one’s mind and body, they decided to learn the exercises.
Domingo from Cartagena
Domingo, who is from Cartagena, said he knew how communism has negatively influenced Latin American countries such as Venezuela. But he said the CCP’s brutality was beyond imagination. Both surprised and upset by what is going on in China, he signed the petition and said he hopes these tragedies end soon.
Beatriz, who is from Madrid, was vacationing in Cartagena. “I am aware of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa including organ harvesting,” she said. “There are no human rights or freedom in China. I admire those who can stand up for their faith in totalitarian communist China.”
Eloisa signed the petition and praised practitioners for their courage in exposing the CCP’s cruelty. She also thanked practitioners for introducing Falun Dafa and its principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Jose
Another local, Jose, talked with practitioners and signed the petition. “The CCP has been suppressing basic rights and faiths. We must stop this,” he said. “Communist China has been doing business with Western counties. If we do not end the suppression, the regime will become even more reckless.”
A Chinese woman said she was originally from Fujian Province in southeast China. After hearing how the CCP has harmed its people for decades, including Falun Dafa practitioners, she agreed to renounce her membership in its youth organizations, namely the Youth League and Young Pioneers that she had joined. She also planned to learn more about current events in China and share the information with her family.
