Cultivating Diligently Brings a Miracle

(Minghui.org) I was very young when I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Dafa on July 20, 1999, my parents, who are also Dafa practitioners, were forced to leave home and become homeless to avoid harassment or imprisonment. I lived with my aunt and later went to college in another city. Gradually, I slacked off in my cultivation and only studied the Fa when my parents urged me to do so. I still clarified the truth about Falun Dafa to others whenever the opportunity arose. 

Eventually, the truth-clarification was being done by an everyday person because I did not study the Fa. Fortunately, a practitioner from another city visited me and shared his cultivation experience at our Fa-study group. From this, I suddenly realized that I should not slack off in my cultivation. I must keep up with the progress of Master’s Fa-rectification and follow Him to return to my true home.

My wife, who is also a practitioner, and I set up an informational materials production site in our home. Compassionate Master arranged the practitioner who shared his experience with us to teach me how to use the computer and printer. Now I am doing the three things that Dafa practitioners should do well every day.

My wife and I went through many tribulations when we returned to Dafa cultivation. For example, at the time of the first group experience sharing meeting, my three-year-old child had a high fever and severe laryngitis, and had to be watched. People at work turned against me, and my manager had a negative impression about me. In addition, my father-in-law had a heart attack and passed away. But none of these tribulations affected our daily Fa-study and truth-clarification. My wife endured the pain of losing her father, but continued to study the Fa every day. We finally got through these ordeals with our firm belief in Master and the Fa. We are very grateful to Master for waking us up by using someone’s experience sharing, and letting us keep up within a positive group cultivation environment. We must cultivate diligently and do well the three things that Dafa disciples should do to be worthy of Master’s compassionate salvation.

Amazing Experience

I would like to share with fellow practitioners an amazing incident that recently happened to me after I returned to Dafa.

I was driving to work one morning and was stopped at a red light. Suddenly a car in the next lane backed up and hit my right door with a bang. My first thought was that it must be a hint that something was going wrong in my cultivation. I reflected on whether I had laziness or the pursuit of comfort in my cultivation. However, I thought, “It would be impossible for this kind of accident to happen even if I had omissions in my cultivation.” The moment I saw the other driver getting out of her car, I realized she must be a predestined sentient being who wanted to hear the truth about Falun Dafa, which would be a very good thing for her and for me. Although, I still had a little resentment that my car door now had a big dent.

Master taught us,

“When you always maintain a heart of benevolence and compassion, you will have time or room to buffer the confrontation and think, should a problem arise suddenly.” (Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun)

I remembered that I am a Dafa practitioner during the Fa-rectification period and my responsibility is to save sentient beings. I approached the other driver with a smile. The lady, who was in her 40s, felt my kindness and gave up the thought of trying to shirk responsibility for the accident, “Oh, I’m sorry. I was busy chatting on my phone as I need to deliver some goods today. I didn’t see your car behind me. I will call the insurance company now and submit a claim.” I comforted her by saying, “It's all right. We all have times when we are in a hurry.” The lady called the insurance company and sounded nervous and anxious while on the phone. I told her, “Sister, it’s all right. Don’t worry. Let me talk to him.” After I finished explaining the situation and giving the insurance company the location, the lady suddenly praised me, “You are a young man with good qualities.”

As we chatted, I learned that she had previously run a kindergarten. She told me about a lot of experiences she had with the children’s parents. I tried to lead the topic toward truth-clarification, but she kept talking and wouldn’t let me say anything. The insurance claim adjuster would be here any minute. It would be even harder to clarify the truth once the adjuster arrived, so I asked her, “Sister, have you ever heard of withdrawing from the CCP and its youth organization?” She was puzzled and said no. I was even more sure that she was here to listen to the facts. I talked about Falun Dafa as if from the perspective of a practitioner’s relative and told her that Dafa practitioners are all good people who always put others first. Then I told her about the evilness of the CCP and why it persecutes Falun Dafa. In the end I told her that she should withdraw from the CCP to keep safe. The woman completely agreed with what I said. I suggested that she use an alias to withdraw from the CCP. She happily agreed. Looking at her beautiful smile, I felt that a sentient being had been saved.

The traffic police came over and asked us to move the cars out of the way. After I moved the car, I looked at the damage. A miracle had happened. The dent on the door was gone, and my car did not have any damage at all—even the dust on the door was still there. I immediately told the woman that there was no need for the claim adjuster to come as it was too troublesome to deal with. I asked her to tell the insurance company that the owner of the car she hit wasn’t seeking compensation for the accident. The lady thanked me with a smile and said goodbye, “Young man, I hope I will be lucky enough to see you again in the future.”

I further understood Master’s compassion through the miracle that happened in this accident. Our bodies and the tools we use every day benefit from Dafa. I am very grateful for Master’s compassionate salvation and I am determined to walk steadily on the path of Fa-rectification cultivation.

I would also like to use this opportunity to remind other practitioners like me who started practicing Dafa with their parents or elders but got lost in an everyday person’s life to wake up quickly. Our family members and the sentient beings are waiting for us to save them. Meanwhile, Master is also waiting for us to wake up while constantly giving us opportunities to improve. Practitioners cannot imagine what Master has endured for us in order to save us. Don’t be fooled by the illusions and miss this opportunity. We mustn’t feel depressed about the mistakes we’ve made in the past. 

Master taught us:

“You still have a chance as long as this undertaking as a whole hasn’t concluded. Seize the day. How to make the best use of your time is what you should think about.” (Teachings at the Conference of Changchun Assistants)
