(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Albany, New York participated in the National Night Out event on August 1, 2023. Their booth and calming exercises fascinated many people at this annual community event.

Practitioners introduce Falun Gong and expose the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution.

Signature collection calls for an end to the CCP’s atrocities.

After hearing of the CCP’s persecution, many people said it was irrational for the CCP to persecute such a peaceful practice. People were even more shocked to find that such brutality has been going on for the past 24 years. They signed the petition calling for an end to the atrocities, especially the CCP’s crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.

Patricia Fahy, Member of the New York State Assembly, listens to a practitioner’s introduction.

Patricia Fahy, Member of the New York State Assembly, stopped by and greeted Falun Gong practitioners at their booth. After listening to a practitioner explain what Falun Gong is and why it’s being persecuted in China, representative Fahy said the people of New York support Falun Gong. She also signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution.

Hon. Sherri Brooks-Morton with Falun Gong practitioners

Hon. Sherri Brooks-Morton of the Albany Family Court was happy to see Falun Gong practitioners at the event. She had heard about Falun Gong from practitioners and has always been supportive of the practice.

A woman came to ask about Falun Gong. She told a practitioner that she has been sad because of family matters. As she learned more about the benefits of Falun Gong, the woman looked happier and more energetic. She signed the petition and took a flier, as well as an origami Lotus flower. She planned to learn more about the cultivation practice

Participants from other booths also came to visit the Falun Gong booth. Some followed along with the movements of the Falun Gong exercises. Some signed the petition and took informational materials.

The organizer of the event also stopped by to sign the petition and invite practitioners to return next year.
