From Ms. Xie’s home, they seized Falun Gong books and informational brochures about Falun Gong. Ms. Xie and Ms. Yu were taken to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center and have been held there for 3 months. The Huangpi District Procuratorate issued arrest warrants.

Ms. Luo Jiping and two other practitioners who had their pensions arbitrarily suspended, went to the Xichang Intermediate Court again on May 25, 2023 to inquire about their appeals.
Staff from the Social Security Bureau called Ms. Luo’s husband on May 31, 2023 and told him to tell Ms. Luo to go to the bureau the next day. Ms. Luo and two other practitioners who had their pensions arbitrarily suspended, went to the Social Security Bureau the next day. After they arrived, the newly appointed head Hu Shijun, several deputy heads and two officials came into the room. Hu told Ms. Luo that she must return the pension, about 81,000 yuan (roughly 11,200 USD), that she received while she was imprisoned. He said she should not have received it. Hu threatened to sue Ms. Luo, saying that getting extra pension of 3,000 yuan is enough to be penalized and fined. Hu also threatened to make Ms. Luo’s children pay for her, and to freeze their properties if the family did not have the money. Under pressure, Ms. Luo had to sign the Basic Pension Installment Repayment Agreement that they provided.
