(Minghui.org) Practitioners were invited to participate in the Independence Day parades held in San Jose and Redwood City on July 4, 2023. The mayor of San Jose praised them and said, “Your team is great.”
Practitioners participate in San Jose's Independence Day Parade.
Known as the “Capital of Silicon Valley,” San Jose is located in the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area and many high-tech companies are located there. The Western U.S. Tian Guo Marching Band was invited to participate in The Rose White and Blue Parade in San Jose. They performed "Falun Dafa Is Good" and "Holy Song." Many people said they were happy to see the band.
Luisa said she supports Falun Dafa.
Luisa, who was born in Hong Kong, said that she’s seen Shen Yun. “I support Falun Dafa. I support Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I am in favor of letting more people know about the persecution in China.”
She said, “I know that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been persecuting Falun Dafa for many years. It is terrible. They incarcerate Falun Dafa practitioners in labor camps and harvest their organs. It’s too shameful. They are not just the Communist Party, they are demons.”
When practitioners passed by, Jose gave them a thumbs up. He expressed his admiration for Falun Dafa and said, “Falun Dafa teaches people to be kind, and practitioners are very kind. They care about others. They are persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party. The CCP harvests their organs while they are alive. This is a crime against humanity. What the CCP has done is too cruel. We should stop imports from China. We pray for the Chinese people and hope they will be free.”
Dino Serta thanked practitioners for their participation in the parade.
Dino Serta was a volunteer at the parade. He was happy to see the practitioners’ team and enthusiastically applauded them. He said, “This team is great. There should be more bands participating in the parade, and we thank you for coming to the parade. They played so well. I like it very much. I like the music they played.”

Mark said the Falun Dafa team is great, “I like this team, and I like to see people from different cultural backgrounds participate in the parade.” He read the information about Falun Dafa on the flyer and said, “I like the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.”

Practitioners tell people about the persecution in China
Redwood City is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the local Independence Day Parade is the largest and oldest parade in Northern California. The Falun Dafa group consisted of an exercise demonstration team, a waist drum team, and a banner team and float. The exercise team walked in front, and they demonstrated the five Falun Dafa exercises. All along the route, people greeted them with cheers and applause.
Organizer: Their Performances Are Spectacular
Parade organizer Bob Anderson said he was happy that practitioners participated in the parade.
Parade organizer Bob Anderson said, “The Falun Dafa group is a beautiful team. We appreciate their performances, which are spectacular, neat, and coordinated. We like it very much. I like the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. We are happy that Falun Gong practitioners came to participate in the parade.”

Diana Dustamante, an architect, said, “The Falun Dafa group gave me a refreshing feeling, which is very good. I’m happy to see them. The principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are wonderful. I felt happy when I saw them.”
Charlotte from Redwood City also liked the practitioners' entry and said, “It’s great that practitioners are here. Freedom and peace are very important. Thank you for bringing us freedom and peace. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is the most important thing, and you have followed it today. You have brought energy and universal love.”
