(Minghui.org) The police forces in Henan Province have been traveling out of province since 2019 to arrest law-abiding citizens who posted information on various social media platforms exposing the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of Falun Gong.
At least 22 Falun Gong practitioners from three centrally-controlled municipalities (Chongqing, Beijing, and Shanghai) and nine provinces (Sichuan, Hubei, Shandong, Hebei, Zhejiang, Liaoning, Jiangxi, Fujian, and Shanxi) have been arrested during the past few years.
They were brought to Henan Province to be detained and prosecuted. Twelve of them have been sentenced to prison, with terms ranging from 3 to 9.5 years. The rest of the practitioners are at different stages of the prosecution.
Below is a list of the targeted practitioners by the arrest dates:
1. Ms. Yu Xiurong, of Chongqing, was arrested on December 31, 2019, by officers from Shangshui County, Henan Province. She was later sentenced, though her exact prison term remains unknown.
2-3. Ms. Han Weifang, of Chongqing, and Ms. Wang Daiqing, of Suining City, Sichuan Province, were arrested on July 1, 2020, also by officers from Shangshui County. Ms. Han was later sentenced to 5 years, and Ms. Wang 3 years.
4. Ms. Yuan Rong, of Chongqing, was arrested on October 24, 2020, by both Chongqing police and their counterparts in Shangshui County. She was later sentenced to 5 years.
5. Ms. Yu Hong, of Chongqing, was arrested on October 25, 2020, by officers from Shangshui County. She was later sentenced to 4.5 years.
6. Ms. Fu Nijuan, of Zhijiang City, Hubei Province, was arrested on October 28, 2020, by officers from Luoyang City, Henan Province.
7. Mr. Li Fuchun, of Beijing, was arrested on November 5, 2020, by officers from Luoyang City.
8. Mr. Wu Jiajian, of Laixi City, Shandong Province, was arrested on November 7, 2020, by officers from Luoyang City.
9. Mr. Sun Wanshuai, of Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, was arrested on December 3, 2020, by officers from Luoyang City. He was later sentenced to 8 years.
10. Ms. Liu Jingshu, of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, was arrested on February 17, 2021, by officers from Luoyang City. She was later sentenced to 8 years.
11-13. Ms. Yang Li and Ms. Wu Jimin, both of Zhejiang Province, as well as Mr. Zeng Zhiqiang, of Qingdao City, Shandong Province, were also arrested by Luoyang police at around the same time as Ms. Liu Jingshu.
14. Ms. Zhang Xia, of Wuhan City, Hubei Province, was arrested on February 28, 2021, by officers from Luoyang City. She was later sentenced to 9 years.
15. Ms. Dai Zhiying, of Shanghai, was arrested on April 12, 2021, by seven police officers from the local Ganquan Police Station. They then handed her over to the police from Luoyang City in the evening. She was later sentenced to 9.5 years.
16-17. Ms. Sun Lijuan and her husband, Mr. Sun Baoguo, of Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, were arrested at home on April 25, 2021, by the local police and their counterparts from Jiaozuo City, Henan Province. Ms. Sun was later sentenced to 5 years.
18. Mr. Li Bin, of Botou City, Hebei Province, was arrested on April 28, 2021, by officers from Huang County, Henan Province. He was later sentenced to 7.5 years.
19. Mr. Li Shihai, of Pingdu City, Shandong Province, was arrested on June 14, 2022 by police from Luoyang City. He was later sentenced to 4 years.
20-22. Mr. Cai Binyang, of Shangyou County, Jiangxi Province, Mr. Wu Lianan, of Xiamen City, Fujian Province, and Ms. Li Huimin, of Yangquan City, Shanxi Province, were arrested by Luoyang police at around the same time as Mr. Li Shihai.
