(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners were invited to participate in the 32nd annual “Maratón de los Cuentos” (Storytelling Marathon) at the Palacio del Infantado in Guadalajara from June 16-18, 2023.
The story telling marathon is an annual event that began in 1992. Children, adults, groups or professionals narrate stories, anecdotes, tales and poems.
People listen attentively to practitioners' story during the Storytelling Marathon held at the Palacio del Infantado.
The Storytelling Marathon was held at the Palacio del Infantado which is built in the Isabelline architectural style and dates to the 15th century. It is a historic landmark in the city of Guadalajara. The palace, garden, and city center’s streets were covered with colorful children's posters and filled with joyous music. From 5 p.m. on Friday until 3 p.m. on Sunday, groups of people came to enjoy the stories. Local caterers worked around the clock to provide food.
Falun Dafa practitioners presented the fairy tale “The Story of Little Lotus” on June 17, 2023. The story, written by a Falun Dafa practitioner, tells about how good triumphs over evil. When the Little Lotus grew up she remembered the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She was able to distinguish good from bad at times of danger and overcame the crocodile and toads that represented “evil,” “selfishness,” and “lies.” Little Lotus was able to return to her true home after overcoming temptations.
The author of the story said, “Please remember that everyone has three bright and luminous treasures. They are the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Walk your path well.”

An event organizer told a practitioner, “Your stories spread universal values and have an educational meaning, all of which are very important in society nowadays. I like them a lot.” A practitioner gave the organizer a card with a link to the story and a paper lotus flower. The organizer said that she would read the story and share it with her friends and family.
Practitioners also distributed “Falun Dafa is good” cards and flyers with information about Falun Dafa to those attending the event.
One parent said, “The story is very unique, vivid, and interesting. Most important, it teaches us the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”
Other parents said they would share the story of the Little Lotus with their friends and try to educate their children with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They said that the principles are meaningful and important.
