Additional Persecution News from China – July 14, 2023 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Kang Shumei and Her Son Mr. Zhang Gu Arrested and Detained

Ms. Kang Shumei and her son Mr. Zhang Gu were arrested on October 31, 2022. Their case was submitted to the Wanbailin District Procuratorate. Ms. Kang is held in the No.4 Detention Center of Gujiao City. Mr. Zhang Gu is held in the No.1 Detention Center of Taiyuan City.

2. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ten Practitioners Face Trial

Eight practitioners will be tried in the Xinzheng Court on July 19, 2023. They are Mr. Li Hongwei, Ms. Hu Aimin, Ms. Zhao Shuniu, Mr. Li Yixing, Mr. Liu Xinzhi, Mr. Gao Runhong, Mr. Su Jinlin, and Mr. Zeng Yongzhao. Guo Yulan and Jing Cuihua are held in the No. 3 Detention Center and will be tried online on July 17, 2023.

3. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tian Biying Arrested

Ms. Tian Biying, 56, was arrested at home on July 13, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and a media player.

4. [Linying County, Henan Province] Mr. Xing Baomin Arrested and Detained

Mr. Xing Baomin from Wanggang Town was arrested around May 13, 2023 and was sent to the Linying Detention Center. Mr. Xing and his wife were placed under residential surveillance last year.

5. [Suifenhe City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial

Three practitioners, Ms. Liu Dongmei from Suifenhe City, Ms. Jiang Xiuying from Ningan City, and Ms. Wei Liping from Hailin Court, will soon be tried in the Hailin City Court.

Ms. Liu Dongmei was arrested by officers including Zhang Xiaoyi from Suifenhe City Police Department on February 17, 2023 while distributing information about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. She was sent to the Mudanjiang City Detention Center. She was placed under official arrest by the Hailin City Procuratorate on March 28, 2023.

Ms. Jiang Xiuying was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong and was released on bail pending trial on July 15, 2022. Her case was submitted to the Hailin City Procuratorate on May 30, 2023.

Ms. Wei Liping was arrested on July 11, 2022 and detained for 15 days.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Yuhong Detained in a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Yang Yuhong from Xintiancun Community, Caidian District was arrested in June 2023 for talking to a group of students about Falun Gong. She was sent to a brainwashing center and was threatened with imprisonment if she refused to give up practicing Falun Gong.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Lu Jin Arrested and Detained

Mr. Lu Jin from Jiang’an District was reported to police for talking to a student about Falun Gong and was arrested on July 8, 2023. He was taken to the Jianghan District Detention House and was placed under 15-day detention.

8. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Li and Mr. Zhang Fengjun Arrested

Li from Wukeshu Town was arrested on the evening of July 7, 2023. Li was released later.

Mr. Zhang Fengjun from Yushu City was arrested by officers from the Liujia Police Station around July 1, 2023. He was detained for five days.

9. [Quyang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Xia Jingmin Arrested

Ms. Xia Jingmin was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested in early July 2023.

10. [Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Huixia Arrested and Detained

Ms. Li Huixia from Zhanhe Forestry Bureau of Wudalianchi City, was arrested on July 12, 2023. She was placed under 15-day detention and was sent to the Wudalianchi City Detention Center.

11. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Anhua Harassed

Several people from the local police station and the Nanyuan Community Office in Changle County went to the workplace of Ms. Chen Anhua’s daughter-in-law on the afternoon of July 11, 2023. They wanted to know Ms. Chen Anhua’s whereabouts. Her daughter-in-law refused to cooperate. They photographed her daughter-in-law.

12. [Liangshan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yu’e Arrested

Ms. Wang Yu’e from Qianji Village was arrested at the end of 2022 for distributing information about Falun Gong. Ms. Wang was pressured to write a guarantee statement to stop practicing but she refused. Ms. Wang was arrested at home on the morning of June 26, 2023.

13. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Huang Zhufeng Detained

Mr. Huang Zhufeng was sent to the No. 1 Detention Center of Maoming City. It was learned that he is watched by criminal inmates 24 hours a day to prevent him from doing the exercises.

14. [Tianjin] Ms. Yang Suping Arrested

Ms. Yang Suping was arrested at home in Jian’anli Community by two officers from the Banchang Road Police Station in the Binhai New District on the morning of July 13, 2023. She was taken to the police station.

15. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] Ms. Di Lianxia Arrested

Ms. Di Lianxia was arrested at her mother’s home by four police officers on the evening of July 6, 2023. The police ransacked her mother’s home and then Ms. Di's home. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, the photo of Falun Gong's founder, a laptop and a printer. Ms. Di was taken to the Xinshi Police Station. She was released at around midnight.

She received a call on July 12, 2023 and was summoned to the police department. She did not go. Ms. Di has now left home to avoid further persecution.

16. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Weizhi Arrested

The police ransacked Mr. Wang Weizhi’s home and his warehouse on the afternoon of July 6, 2023. They confiscated a printer and other items. Mr. Wang was sent to the Baishan City Detention House.

17. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zuo Yunai Harassed and Xu Guiming Missing

Ms. Zuo Yunai’s home was ransacked in late June 2023. Her Falun Gong books, cell phone and other personal belongings were confiscated.

Xu Guiming has been missing since June 2023.
