(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Latvia participated in Ventspils’ Sea Festival on July 1, 2023. Located on the west coast, Ventspils is an important international transport hub and port city on the Baltic Sea.
Because the practitioners’ booth was close to the children’s area, it attracted many children and parents. Practitioners taught children how to make origami lotus flowers and introduced Falun Dafa and the persecution of the practice in China to interested passersby.

After they read the information on the banners, people expressed interest in signing the petition. Practitioners directed them to the website on the leaflet to sign the petition online. A lot of people visited the website as they stood at the booth and then wished practitioners well in their efforts to stop the persecution.
Many people were interested in learning the Falun Dafa exercises in Ventspils. Practitioners offered them information about the Ventspils group practice site next to the children’s park “Fantazija” in Parventa every Sunday morning. A husband and wife mentioned that they had once found a Falun Dafa exercise video online and learned the first two exercises.

A woman and her 17-year-old daughter stopped by because her daughter was interested in learning the Falun Dafa exercises. The woman learned about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China and said that communism has always brought destruction and misery.
When the woman had to leave, she said she wanted to read Zhuan Falun, the main text of Falun Dafa, and see the exercise videos so that she could start to practice Falun Dafa with her daughter in Ventspils. They thanked practitioners and wished them well with their continued efforts to expose the evil. “Good luck! See you soon!” the woman said.
The 17-year-old girl thanked practitioners and said she felt very good after learning the exercises.
A woman who stopped by said that she did not understand what she had read on a poster about forced organ harvesting in China. The practitioner explained that Falun Dafa practitioners in China are illegally arrested, tortured, killed, and even have their organs harvested while they are still alive.
The practitioner went on to say that the persecution has continued since July 20, 1999, when the then-leader of the Chinese Communist Party single-handedly decided to launch the persecution of Falun Dafa. At that time, between 70 million and 100 million people in China were practicing Falun Dafa, which is based on the universal principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The Chinese Communist Party is based on deceit, hatred, aggression, and intolerance. When Jiang Zemin, the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party, saw the popularity of the practice, he was envious and said that it was a threat to the Party, so he initiated the persecution. The woman said she would read more about it and then signed the petition.
Another woman, after learning more about Falun Dafa, said that spirituality is needed nowadays and that it is impossible to live without it.
After speaking with practitioners in depth about Falun Dafa, several people wished practitioners good luck with their cultivation.
