(Minghui.org) It was recently confirmed that a 64-year-old resident of Yushu City, Jilin Province was given a second prison term for his faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
Mr. Dong Libiao was arrested at home in early November 2022. His Falun Gong books, printer, and printing supplies were confiscated. The Dehui City Court sentenced him to a three and a half-year prison term. The details of his trial remain to be investigated. It is also unclear when he was transferred from the Dehui City Detention Center to the Gongzhuling City Prison.
This is the second time that Mr. Dong has been sentenced for his faith. He was arrested by the Shulan City Police Department officers on November 19, 2007, when he was still living in Shulan City, Jilin Province. He was later sentenced to nine years.
The Shulan police kept harassing Mr. Dong after he was released. He was forced to live away from home, and eventually settled in Yushu City.
