(Minghui.org) Dafa practitioners held an event to call for an end to the persecution against Falun Dafa in China at Hutan Bandar Putra Kulai Park in Johor on July 2, 2023. Practitioners from many parts of Malaysia including Johor, Penang, Selangor, and Pahang held a vigil to mourn practitioners who were persecuted to death in China.
They displayed banners with messages such as “24th Anniversary of Falun Dafa’s Peaceful Effort to Call for an End to the Persecution,” and “Falun Dafa Is Practiced All Over the World.” The scene was solemn as they commemorated their fellow practitioners who lost their lives during the 24-year-long persecution in China.
Practitioners hold a memorial event at Hutan Bandar Putra Kulai to call for an end to the persecution of Falun Dafa on July 2, 2023.
Three practitioners gave speeches in Mandarin, English and Malay. They briefly introduced Falun Dafa and described the persecution in China. They explained that they were holding the memorial event not only to mourn practitioners who were persecuted to death in China, but also to inform local residents about Falun Dafa so that they can join in the effort to end the persecution.
The practitioners said in their speeches, “Through Falun Dafa practitioners’ persistent truth clarification over the years, people have gradually come to know about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) crimes, and the politicians and kind citizens of many countries are standing up to condemn the CCP’s brutality. These people who support justice and help stop this evil are creating a beautiful future for themselves.”
Local official Mr. Syukri stopped by the event. He said that he knew a little about Falun Dafa and he also thought that Falun Dafa is a very healthy practice. He chatted with practitioners and read the information about the efforts to end the persecution.
In response to the CCP’s harvesting organs from prisoners of conscience while they are still alive, Mr. Syukri said, “Live organ harvesting is too cruel. It is inhumane. How can these bad people [who persecute Falun Dafa] live?”
Cai Ping, a young local practitioner said that although she has not personally experienced the persecution that practitioners in China are going through, she feels very sad for them. She hopes that through letting more people know about Falun Dafa and the persecution, people can be clear about the true nature of the CCP and know that it has never stopped persecuting these good people who believe in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. She hopes that people who understand the truth can face this tragedy squarely and come together to end the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Practitioners distributed information to local residents.
Cai Ping and her mother talked to people at the park. There were many Malays and many of them said that they had never heard about Falun Dafa before but they were interested. They accepted the fliers that Cai Ping and her mother handed out. They also expressed empathy for the suffering of practitioners in China.
Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 24 years, though due to the difficulty in getting information out of China, the actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
