Four Senior Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested or Harassed by Same Police Station

(Minghui.org) The Gaoling Police Station in Mouping District, Yantai City, Shandong Province has arrested or harassed at least four older Falun Gong practitioners in its jurisdiction since late 2022.

Five officers from the Gaoling Police Station broke into 64-year-old Ms. Kong Shoufang’s home in Dongtun Village at around 5 p.m. on December 12, 2022. They interrogated her and her husband at the police station for about three hours before releasing the couple at 8 p.m. Ms. Kong was so traumatized that she fell ill and couldn’t take care of herself. Her daughter took her in and cared for her until she got better.

Agents from the Gaoling Police Station and Mouping District Domestic Security Office broke into 61-year-old Ms. Liu Yingzhi’s home in Dazhangkuang Village at around 4 p.m. on March 3, 2023. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, two computers, two printers and other valuables. They held her at the police station for one day before releasing her on bail the next afternoon. They later summoned Ms. Liu to the police station to write statements to renounce Falun Gong, but she refused to betray her belief.

Officers from the Gaoling Police Station harassed a resident of Xiayu Village in March 2023. The 80-year-old man’s wife, Ms. Sun Houqi, died as a result of the persecution of Falun Gong years ago. They interrogated him about his daughter and son-in-law, both Falun Gong practitioners who work out of town. 

Four officers from the Gaoling Police Station broke into 76-year-old Ms. Yu Caiyun’s home in Gaoxitun Village at around 10:30 a.m. in late May 2023. They interrogated her at the police station. When she refused to sign the interrogation records, the police summoned her son to the station to sign on her behalf. She was then released in the afternoon.
