(Minghui.org) Practitioners held The Art of Zhen Shan Ren (Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance) Exhibition at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) on May 30, 2023 to introduce Falun Dafa and expose the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution.
Students who are members of the UCSD Falun Dafa Club and local practitioners got together to display the main artworks from the exhibition on the campus. Students who passed by the area during lecture breaks stopped to view the artworks and chatted with practitioners.
Practitioners held an Art Exhibition at UCSD to tell people about the ongoing persecution.
Student Omar Halawa spoke to a practitioner for a long time and learned about the persecution that is still taking place in China. He said he does not have a specific belief but he liked the values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, “I love these values. It is a great way to live. Falun Dafa practitioners not only seek to improve their health, they are also doing this for inner peace. It is important to have a faith, something that one can believe in and place one’s hope in.”
He understood the extent of the persecution’s brutality through the exhibition. He said it was the first time he had heard of the atrocities. He thanked practitioners for making him aware of what is happening in China.
“I always thought I knew many things. I am aware of the persecution in Xinjiang. That is why I cannot believe I never heard of the persecution of Falun Dafa before. I am grateful to them (practitioners) for making me aware. I think it is important to let people know about this. The art exhibition is an excellent way.”
He continued, “I think it’s most important for us students to oppose this persecution, not through violence but to choose our stance. We should resist the CCP’s possible brainwashing.”
Halawa also said he was aware of the tactics used by the CCP to suppress people. “This is evident from what has happened historically.” He thinks the CCP is frightened of Falun Dafa, “because practitioners are a group of people with a common belief.”
Another student, Artyom, said he knew a bit about Falun Dafa, however he was still shocked to see the CCP’s persecution of the practice through the artworks. He said, “It makes one feel sad to see such a terrible persecution is still taking place in China now. Dictators only care about their power and will resort to any means to oppress people.”
Artyom said he intends to find out more about Falun Dafa. He will also discuss Falun Dafa with his friends from Taiwan and China.
