(Minghui.org) The Falun Dafa information booth was popular with people who attended The Body Mind Psychic Expo at the Adelaide Showground on May 28 and 29, 2023. They thanked practitioners for introducing them to the mind and body practice and helping them find such a great cultivation way.

The Falun Gong information booth was popular at the event. A constant stream of people came to inquire about the practice.

A giant poster created a background for the booth that was decorated with colorful lotus flowers on either side. In front was a table with information and books about Falun Dafa. Practitioners in yellow T-shirts with “Falun Dafa Is Great” written on them demonstrated the exercise movements. Others distributed Falun Dafa information to passersby and handed them beautiful paper lotus flowers.

Sveta, a practitioner, said it was very busy during the expo, with a constant stream of people asking about Falun Dafa.

“They were interested and asked all sorts of questions,” she said. “Some asked about the principles of the practice, others about where they could learn it, how we felt after practicing, and what were the benefits. I told them how my health improved and I became calmer after I began to practice Dafa. My coworkers and people around me say that I am calm and steady. In particular, I don’t get upset when problems come up. I am considerate and deal with conflicts calmly. This is the mindset practicing Falun Dafa has given me. People thanked us for sharing our experiences. Nearly everyone took a flier and asked how they could find out about the free classes, which are held locally.”

A man told Barbara, a practitioner, that he’d tried Taichi and other forms of qigong, and enjoyed reading books about the meaning of life. When he learned Falun Dafa is based on Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, he showed great interest and asked how he could cultivate by following these principles.

Barbara told him there are two main books—Falun Gong, the introductory book, and Zhuan Falun—that guide practitioners in cultivation. By reading the books over and over again, practitioners learn how to cultivate at different levels. He picked up one book, read the table of contents, and decided to purchase both books.

A woman who was introduced to Falun Dafa in the past was thrilled to finally purchase the Falun Dafa exercise instruction DVD at the booth after searching for it for some time.

Mary, who came from a remote area, was delighted to be introduced to Falun Dafa at the expo. When practitioners told her there were free online classes, she said she wanted to sign up for the lessons held in June.

Linda volunteers as a social worker. She has contacts with many social groups and offers them a variety of free services, such as legal advice, psychological counseling, mental health services, and so on. After talking to the practitioners, she thought that Falun Dafa was valuable and wanted to invite practitioners to teach the exercises to the social groups where she offers her services.

Csilla and Gath bought Falun Dafa books after practitioners told them about the practice at the Expo.

Csilla and Gath watched intently Brian, an elderly practitioner who sat meditating in the full lotus position at the information booth. Csilla said, “I used to be able to sit like that for a short time when I practiced yoga. I can’t anymore. Brian is able to sit like that for a long time despite his age. It is amazing!”

After Csilla learned that Falun Dafa is a practice of mind and body with a focus on cultivating one’s moral character, she said she had always been interested in improving her mental health. Practitioners asked her to read the very beginning of Zhuan Falun, “On Dafa.” She purchased the book after she did and said that she plans to read it from cover to cover after returning home.

Csilla was sad to hear about the persecution practitioners in China face. She said, “I came from a country in Europe that used to be ruled by the Soviet Union. I understand the pain one feels when facing such persecution. People who live under totalitarian rule are denied freedom of religious or spiritual faith.”

Many people at the Expo expressed their disgust with the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) suppression of human rights and freedom of belief. They signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong (also called Falun Dafa). They also expressed interest in protesting the persecution and stopping the crime of forced organ harvesting by the CCP.
