(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 33 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Yu Tao Faces Trial

Mr. Yu Tao, a teacher, will be tried in the No.1 Detention Center by the Maonan District Court at 9:30 a.m. on May 25, 2023. Mr. Yu has been held in the Gaozhou City Detention Center for one year and nine months.

2. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Practitioners Persecuted

Several practitioners were arrested in Mr. Ming’s home by armed police officers in Shuidong Town at 8 p.m. on May 11, 2023. The homes of Ms. Deng Mei, Ms. Huang Shijing, and Ms. Li Yufang were ransacked. Ms. Li Yufang’s computer and printer were confiscated.

Ms. Oufen, Ms. Liping, and Guoren are being held in the No.1 Detention Center. Ms. Deng Mei, Ms. Li Meifang, Ms. Huang Shijing, and Mr. Feng Yueming (Ms. Oufen’s husband) were taken to the Dianbai District Detention Center.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yuan Chunju Arrested and Detained

Ms. Yuan Chunju, 72, from the South District was arrested when she went out to distribute information about Falun Gong early on May 11, 2023. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Yuan is being held in the Pudong Detention Center.

4. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Hu Hui and Ms. Xu Fengzhen Arrested

Ms. Hu Hui and Ms. Xu Fengzhen were arrested on May 15, 2023.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Shi Wenzhuo Arrested and Detained

Mr. Shi Wenzhuo was arrested by Dong Ping, head of the Domestic Security Division, and other officers on the afternoon of March 16, 2023. He was taken to a detention center. Although Mr. Shi’s health was poor and the detention center should have rejected him, Dong Ping found a doctor who falsified the medical record.

6. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Zhengyong Arrested

Mr. Wang Zhengyong was arrested at his home by officers from the Donghu District Police Department at noon on May 18, 2023. The police ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. Mr. Wang was released around 5 p.m.

7. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Chunlei Arrested

Mr. Li Chunlei from the Wanquan District was arrested on May 16, 2023. His car was confiscated and his home was ransacked.

8. [Beijing] Mr. Shi Yingji Arrested

Mr. Shi Yingji lives in Konghuaying Village, Yongning Town, Yanqing County. He was arrested at his home with several other practitioners who visited him at noon on May 11, 2023. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a computer, printer, and other personal belongings. He was taken to the Yanqing District Detention Center. Two other practitioners have been released.

9. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Jingquan Arrested

Ms. Wang Jingquan, 68, from the Jianxi District was arrested by officers in the Jianxi District Domestic Security Division when she was distributing information about Falun Gong on May 15, 2023.

10. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Wenfang Arrested

Ms. Yang Wenfang, 77, lives in Yanjia Village, Lidao Town. She was reported when she told people about Falun Gong in a market and was arrested on April 25, 2023. She was taken to the Lidao Town Police Station. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her computer, a copy of Zhuan Falun, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a media player, Minghui Weekly magazines, amulets, and about 50 yuan in paper bills with facts about Falun Gong printed on them.

11. [Dunhua City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Tian Arrested

Practitioner Tian from Jiangdong Town was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on the street on May 16, 2023. Tian was detained for 13 days.

12. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Dinggang’s Family Persecuted

Three of Mr. Zhang Dinggang’s family members are facing arrest and detention. In order to avoid persecution, they left home.

The eldest daughter had a good job but she was fired because she practiced Falun Gong. She was arrested with her family in December 2022. Afterwards, she had symptoms of a mental collapse due to years of persecution.

Mr. Zhang’s wife, Ms. Ji Qingzhu, now has blurred vision and her blood sugar level is elevated. Mr. Zhang is recovering from a heart attack. Their youngest daughter, who is not a practitioner, was implicated after her parents and her older sister were arrested in December 2022. She was fired from her job, and her yearly bonus was canceled. She is facing arrest because of her parents.

13. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wang Dongqin and Ms. Wang Fulin Arrested

Several elderly practitioners including Ms. Wang Dongqin and Ms. Wang Fulin were arrested at their homes on May 5, 2023. Some of them were released on bail pending trial. Some are still missing.

14. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Luo Xiaogang Arrested and Detained

Mr. Luo Xiaogang was arrested and taken to the Lulinyuan Farm Brainwashing Center in Xiaochang County on April 18, 2023. He was detained for nearly a month and was released around May 13, 2023.

15. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Cuihong Arrested

Ms. Yu Cuihong was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Beijing Street Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong on Heishui Road on May 1, 2023. The police broke into her home without a search warrant and confiscated her Falun Gong books and truth clarifying materials. Ms. Yu was held for 12 days in a detention house.
