Master Teaches Us to Be Good People

(Minghui.org) I started practicing Falun Dafa at the end of 1998. Guided by Falun Dafa’s principles, I have maintained my xinxing and witnessed many miracles. I’d like to share some stories to show you how great our Master is and how extraordinary Falun Dafa is.

I used to suffer from neuralgia, insomnia and arthritis. My legs felt so heavy, as if they were made of lead. I had to wear thick pants and use a thick quilt at night, even in summer, but my legs and feet still felt cold. I couldn’t do any household chores and was on medications all the time. I developed stomach problems from taking too many medicines. I had no appetite and I felt living was harder than dying.

People from another village came to spread Falun Dafa in our village. They put a poster on the wall of our house. I didn’t know about cultivation then. I read the introduction on the poster and followed along as the practitioners demonstrated the exercise movements. My aunt and I became the first two people to learn Falun Dafa in our village, though I was very sick and my aunt had a hot temper. The practitioners treated us kindly. They read the teachings to us every day. I only had two years of education and didn’t know many Chinese characters.

After they finished reading Zhuan Falun to us, I watched the nine-day lecture videos. Then they started teaching us the exercise movements. I later bought a copy of Zhuan Falun. I wrote down the unknown words and asked my daughter when she came home. I could gradually read Zhuan Falun by myself.

One day I read the following in Lecture One:

“I do not talk about healing illness here, and neither will we heal illness. As a genuine practitioner, however, you cannot practice cultivation with an ill body. I will purify your body. The body purification will be done only for those who come to truly learn the practice and the Fa.” (Zhuan Falun)

I realized that I was going to do cultivation and that I didn’t have any illnesses. I gradually regained strength in my legs and my appetite. Eventually, all my illness symptoms disappeared.

I took my daughter with me, and we went everywhere to spread the Fa with other practitioners. A new chapter of my life opened up.

Letting Go of Seeking Personal Gain

Almost every family in my village had greenhouses and needed to water their vegetable fields frequently. Every family stole electricity. They connected an electric wire to the main cable to avoid the electricity going through the family electric meter. Our family did the same before we practiced Falun Dafa.

From Master’s teachings, we understood the principle of “no loss, no gain” and felt that what we were doing was not right. We visited the village Party secretary and told him our thoughts. My husband said to him, “We now practice Falun Dafa and know it is not right. Our Master teaches us to think of other people. We will pay for the electricity we used before. Going forward, can you please install an electric meter in our greenhouse? We will pay the electric bill.” The Party secretary gave us a thumbs up and said, “Thank you very much. We will send you a bill at the end of each year.”

People saw that Falun Dafa practitioners didn’t seek personal gain and didn’t follow negative trends. They admired us.

Returning Lost Goods

This incident happened not long after the persecution of Falun Dafa started in 1999.

We were on a tricycle, and a big truck was in front of us. Suddenly a big bag fell from the truck. We shouted and waved to the driver, but he didn’t react. We picked up the bag, put it on our tricycle, and started to chase the truck. But our tricycle was too slow, and we couldn’t get the driver's attention. We left the bag at our relative’s house near the road so that they could return it to whoever came by to look for it.

The big bag contained bed linings. We waited several days, but nobody came to claim it. We took it to the local police station.

When the police learned that we were Falun Dafa practitioners, they asked for our names and where we were from. We told them that we did good deeds but didn’t want to leave our names. Some of the policemen went outside to see our tricycle plate so that they could find more information about us. Even under such circumstances they still wanted to persecute Dafa practitioners. Our tricycle didn’t have a plate, so they got nothing. In the end, they had to let us go.

Paying Back a Debt

We built a house in 2014 and borrowed 60,000 yuan. We had three greenhouses at the time and grew celery. We could earn 30,000 yuan a year and could pay off the debt in two years. The celery grew very well in the spring of 2015. If we gave it some good fertilizer, it could grow even better and sell for a good price. But after we put fertilizer on, the celery leaves became old and the stems became big and coarse. It didn’t look good.

We told the fertilizer shop owner. He said that no one else had complained. Actually, several families had the same issue after they used his fertilizer. We had the celery tested by an organization, which found that it contained too many hormones.

We went back to the shop owner and told him not to sell that fertilizer anymore. We didn’t ask him for any compensation, because things were not easy for him. He had to take care of his father, who suffered from cerebral thrombosis, and he himself was slightly mentally handicapped. We told him that we practiced Falun Dafa and that our Master taught us to think of other people first. We asked him to stop selling that fertilizer.

People admired us for handling the situation so well. Other people might have lodged a lawsuit for compensation. But we are practitioners and didn’t do that. We got rid of the celery and grew eggplants.

We grew celery again that autumn. This time, the celery grew very well and sold at a record price. We made 60,000 yuan from the celery in the three greenhouses and paid off our debt. We were so thankful to Master. As long as we maintain our xinxing, Master gives us so much!

My Son Survives Two Accidents

My son was playing outside the house while my husband and I were working in the backyard. He was five or six at the time. An elderly lady came over and told us that our son had been hit by a motorcycle. We rushed over and saw he was sitting on the ground crying. He had a big bump on his head. The motorcyclist urged us to get a scan for our son in the hospital. I comforted him and asked him not to worry. The elderly lady became anxious and said we had become foolish and didn’t even ask for money. We took this opportunity to let the motorcyclist know that we practiced Falun Dafa and that our Master taught us to think of other people first. We asked him to remember, “Falun Dafa is good.” My son stopped crying after a while and started to play again. He was fine.

The second accident happened in the evening two years ago. I was studying the Fa when a neighbor ran over to me and said that my son had been hit in an accident and had passed out. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance. I rushed to the hospital and pleaded with Master to save him all the way.

When I arrived at the hospital, I saw a person lying on the corridor floor and covered in blood. I later learned that he was the drunk driver. My son came to later on. I asked him to recite “Falun Dafa is good” and pleaded with Master to save him.

We stayed in the hospital overnight. My son said he had a headache. I told him that we could go home and listen to Master’s lectures. We paid the medical expenses and went home. My son listened to Master’s lectures at home and recovered quickly. The driver was hospitalized for a month.

The driver came to see us after he recovered. He gave us some money, but we returned it to him. This matter became a topic of discussion in our area. On one occasion, a businessman from another area asked my husband if he had heard the story about a local villager who was hit by a driver, and when the driver gave him money, the villager returned the money to the driver. My husband said that it had happened to our family. They admired us so much and all acknowledged that Falun Dafa practitioners are good people and that Falun Dafa is good.

I hope that Chinese people can learn the truth about Falun Dafa and not believe the Chinese Communist Party’s propaganda. I hope they will hold onto their kindness and discern good from bad so that they can have a good future.
