Jilin City, Jilin Province: 30+ Arrested in One Day for Their Faith in Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) Multiple police stations in the four districts (Chuanying, Changyi, Longtan, and Fengman) of Jilin City, Jilin Province, conducted a coordinated group arrest of local residents on June 4, 2023, for their faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.

More than 30 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested that day. According to insiders, all the practitioners had been monitored for a long time before the arrests.

The following is information about seven of the arrested practitioners and a few other practitioners who were harassed on June 4.

Four officers, including Feng Ruiming, from Dongjuzi Police Station in Changyi District, as well as a local street committee worker (a woman wearing glasses), arrested Ms. Ma Fang at her mother’s home (where she had been living in recent years). An insider revealed that Ms. Ma and her mother had been monitored for a month. The police confiscated a large amount of personal valuables. We urge those who had contact with Ms. Ma to pay attention to their safety.

Ms. Wang Yin lives in Fengman District. An officer who had been staked out outside her home barged in at around 5 p.m. on June 4, when her husband and son had returned home from work. The officer then called in more agents from the Jilin City Domestic Security Office, Yan’anjie Police Station, and Changyi District Police Department. They accused her of “colluding” with Ms. Ma and claimed that they knew everything about her, including the make and model of her car. It’s unclear why she was arrested by agents from Changyi District.

The arrested practitioners also included Mr. Li Shigang, Mr. Yu Danjiang, two Fengman District residents who were arrested by agents from Hadawan Police Station in Longtan District (Ms. Liu Yinghua, 68, and Ms. Yin Fuying), and Ms. Wang Xumin (who was also arrested by police from Hadawan Police Station and released before midnight on June 4).

Ms. Mi Hong’s home was raided, as were those of her child’s and her relatives. It was said that agents from multiple districts were involved in ransacking her home. Her whereabouts remain unknown, and her family suspects that she might have been arrested.

A few other practitioners were harassed at home on June 4, including Ms. Ni Fengzhi and two elderly female practitioners (Ms. Zhao and Ms. Zhang). Several officers stayed at Ms. Zhang’s home for an entire day before leaving at night. The police questioned Ms. Ni as to whether she knew Ms. Yin.
