Additional Persecution News from China – June 5, 2023 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 26 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Yuping from the Jiangyang District, along with six other practitioners who were visiting Ms. Liu, were arrested at her home at 3 p.m. on June 1, 2023. It was learned on June 2, 2023 that the seven practitioners were detained in the Nancheng Police Station.

2. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Tang Xueying and Ms. Zeng Qinling Detained

Ms. Tang Xueying and Ms. Zeng Qinling were arrested and have been detained for nearly two years. Their families have not been allowed to visit them. The two practitioners were taken to the Changsha City Women’s Prison in October 2022. Ms. Tang was abused during her detention. Her eyes are now crooked and her mouth is slanted. She walks unsteadily and has irregular bowel movements.

3. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Bingliang Detained

Mr. Zhang Bingliang from Liangtang Town was sent to the Guan County Detention Center in late May 2023. The police confiscated 250,000 yuan of his money that he planned to use to buy fertilizer. Thanks to efforts by his lawyer, the money was returned to him.

4. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Mr. Han Zhenlin’s Home Monitored

Mr. Han Zhenlin from Dongjiu County has stayed away from his home to avoid the persecution. The police installed a 360° surveillance camera on the utility pole just outside of Mr. Han’s home in late May 2023.

5. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Chen Geng Sentenced to Prison

Chen Geng was arrested and sentenced to three years and three months in prison on February 26, 2023, for accessing Twitter. Chen was taken and detained in the Fuqing Prison. Chen is confined in a solitary compartment most of the time. Chen’s family has not been allowed to visit Chen and the letters among them were not sent or received. Chen’s family has been harassed constantly.

6. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Eight Practitioners Face Further Persecution

Eight practitioners were arrested in Anshan Town, Changli County on August 16, 2022 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Three practitioners, Mr. Wang Qinghua, Ms. Wang Ying, and Ms. Shen Yanru, are from Shijiatuo Village of Xinji Town. Three practitioners, Ms. Bai Hanzhi, Ms. Xuan Xiaowen, and Ms. Yang Jinxia, are from Wugezhuang Village of Matuodian Township. The other two practitioners are Mr. Chen Dong from No. 1 Feigezhuang Town and Ms. Li Jinhua from Houmatuo. The practitioners were detained for 30 days and were released on bail for six months, pending trial. The Anshan Police Station submitted their cases to the Funing District Procuratorate.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Qiu Cuixiang Released

Ms. Qiu Cuixiang from Shapingba District was arrested in Shangqiao on September 22, 2022. Police found 106 paper bills imprinted with information about Falun Gong, and two pendants with the words, “Falun Dafa is good.” She was sentenced to eight months in prison and was released on May 26, 2023.

8. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yang Jingshuang and Ms. Deng Anmei Arrested

Ms. Yang Jingshuang and Ms. Deng Anmei from Honggang District were arrested by six police officers in Xingshugang Town on the morning of May 4, 2023, for distributing truth clarifying letters to the town office and police station. Ms. Yang Jingshuang managed to escape. Ms. Deng’s arm was injured during her arrest and she was taken to a hospital, then held for one week in a detention center. Ms. Yang Jingshuang was later arrested on May 12, 2023 and was detained for seven days before she was released on bail pending trial.

9. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yin Arrested

Ms. Wang Yin was arrested by officers from the Yan’an Road Police Station in the Changyi District at 5 p.m. on June 5, 2023. Her home was ransacked.

10. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Aihua Arrested

Ms. Li Aihua, 61, from Tianmen City, was arrested at her son’s home in Jingmen City by officers from the Duodao Police Station in Jingmen City on May 22, 2023. Ms. Li is now in a detention center.

11. [Ningxiang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Feng Jingyou Arrested and Detained

Mr. Feng Jingyou was arrested by three officers including Zeng Xu, deputy of the Xiaduopu Police Station, on April 24, 2023. He was taken to the Ningxiang City Detention Center at 10 p.m., where he was detained for one month. He was released on bail pending trial on May 23, 2023.
