Elected Officials on Five Continents Recognize the 31st Anniversary of Falun Dafa’s Public Introduction - Part 2

(Minghui.org) The 24th annual World Falun Dafa Day was celebrated on May 13, 2023. Elected officials from North and South America, Asia, Europe and Oceania sent proclamations or congratulatory letters to recognize the significant contribution of Falun Dafa and of Dafa’s founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi, to their communities over the years. The date also coincides with the 31st anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction.

Elected Officials in Europe Commend Falun Dafa Practitioners 

In May 2023, eight British politicians sent letters to Falun Dafa practitioners, recognizing World Falun Dafa Day and commending practitioners for their adherence to the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Benedict Rogers, Vice Chairman of the British Conservative Party Human Rights Commission, expressed his congratulations on World Falun Dafa Day, May 13, 2023. 

Benedict Rogers sent a congratulatory letter and delivered a speech during a rally. He said, “I congratulate you on organizing World Falun Dafa Day activities around the world.”

Rogers said that he saw practitioners practicing the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and their perseverance in the face of appalling injustice and inhumane persecution. He paid tribute to this perseverance.

In his congratulatory letter, Lord Hylton paid high tribute to Falun Dafa practitioners, because they have firmly defended freedom of belief and conscience, and dared to protest the increasingly rampant atheist communism.

On May 6, 2023, Michael Gahler MEP (Member of European Parliament) addressed a World Falun Dafa Day celebration in Frankfurt, Germany. 

On May 6, 2023, practitioners held an event in Zeil, a bustling shopping district in Frankfurt, Germany’s financial center, to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day and the birthday of Falun Dafa’s founder Mr. Li Hongzhi. Michel Gahler MEP spoke at the event.

MEP Gahler said that based on his observations over the years, he found that Falun Dafa practitioners are peaceful, kind, and honest. He believes they have had a positive impact on their surroundings and made great contributions towards a better society.

“Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are foundations of our society,” explained Gahler. He wished practitioners well and said he was worried by the long-term human rights violations by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), acknowledging that although practitioners are free to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day here (in Germany), doing the same in China would lead to their detention. Gahler thanked Falun Dafa’s founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi, and wished China a good future.

Heiko Kasseckert MHP, sent a congratulatory letter, expressing his sincere greetings to the World Falun Dafa Day event. In his letter, Mr. Kasseckert stated, “The values that Li Hongzhi teaches in his cultivation school, Falun Gong, are the values that seem particularly important to us today. Falun Gong practitioners who wish to achieve inner balance, health, and well-being, celebrate this day year after year.” 

Karin Müller, Deputy President of the Hesse State Parliament (left), Matina Feldmayer MHP (middle), and Miriam Dahlke MHP (right) jointly sent a congratulatory letter, hoping that all practitioners can continue to maintain courage and strength and wishing all a successful World Falun Dafa Day.

Peter Osuský, a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, gave a speech at the celebration in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia on May 13, 2023.

In May 2023, practitioners in Sweden held celebrations in the capital Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmo. Members of the Swedish Parliament Boriana Åberg (top left), David Josefsson (top right), Jan Ericson (bottom left), Bjorn Soder ( Björn Söder, bottom right) sent congratulatory letters, commending practitioners for their dedication and wishing the event success.

Fourteen Elected Officials in Argentina Recognize Falun Dafa Day

Fourteen elected officials in Argentina co-signed a letter of congratulations to Falun Dafa practitioners, praising the principles of Falun Dafa and practitioners' efforts in Argentina to improve society.

Australian MP Recognize Falun Dafa Day

On May 13, Falun Dafa practitioners in Queensland, Australia gathered at King George Square in the city center to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day with singing, dancing and music. They wished Dafa's founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi, a happy birthday.

Scott Buchholz, Federal MP, sent a congratulatory letter. He wrote, “It is with great pleasure that I lend my support for the 2023 World Falun Dafa Day, in Brisbane.

“As the Federal Member for Wright, I have built a stronger relationship with the Queensland Falun Dafa practitioners. Falun Dafa is a peaceful practice of spiritual health and exercise to help all practitioners maintain a healthy and peaceful life.”

On May 20, practitioners held a rally at the Box Hill Shopping Center in Melbourne, Australia to celebrate the 24th World Falun Dafa Day. Blair Barker, Councilor of Whitehorse City Council, Victoria, attended the rally and expressed his praise and gratitude for practitioners.

Councilor Barker for the Elgar Ward of the City of Whitehorse said, “I am especially proud and grateful to be with you today, Falun Dafa Day. You represent the best of your spirituality in terms of the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.” He told a Minghui reporter, “Falun Dafa is not just important for the practitioners but it’s important for our great country.”

Elected Officials in Kaohsiung, Taiwan Recognize Falun Dafa Day 

On May 13, many elected officials in the Kaohsiung area of Taiwan, including legislators, councilors, and human rights lawyers, celebrated World Falun Dafa Day.

Legislator Hsu Chi-chieh said, “This great day, May 13, is Master Li Hongzhi’s birthday. I wish Master Li a happy birthday!” He added, “Falun Gong is a wonderful practice. Many people around the world have improved physically and mentally after practicing it. I encourage everyone to come and learn it.”

Council member Chen Lina said, “On May 13, World Falun Dafa Day, I wish Master Li Hongzhi a happy birthday from the bottom of my heart!”

She continued, “I have read the main text of Falun Dafa Zhuan Falun several times. It is a very special book. It opens people’s vision and improves their realms. Master Li’s wisdom can guide us in our lives. Falun Dafa can help us break through the difficulties of life.”

She also wished all Falun Dafa practitioners success. “Keep improving and progressing on the path of cultivation," said Ms. Chen. "I sincerely recommend it to more good people so that more people can learn about Falun Dafa and come to practice.”
