(Minghui.org) This is the 25th year the Asian American Society of Central Virginia held it’s annual event, on May 20, 2023. The popular event was held in the Greater Richmond Convention Center and attracted visitors of all ages and walks of life. Many people who came to the event learned about Falun Dafa and the persecution that it faces from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Many people learned about Falun Dafa during an Asian festival on May 20, 2023.
People came to the practitioners’ booth and asked for information about Falun Dafa. Some said they were attracted by the beautiful small lotus flower keepsakes and the booth’s bright colors. Others said they felt positive energy as the practitioners did the exercises.
A lady from China said that she’s seen information about Falun Dafa because she’s watched New Tang Dynasty Television for many years. Recently, she saw it again on social media. She has always been very curious about Falun Dafa but never got a chance to learn more about it. As soon as she saw the Falun Dafa booth, she hurried over. She wanted to buy a Chinese version of Falun Dafa’s main book, Zhuan Falun. She said that she knows that Falun Dafa is good and she wants to learn the practice.
Four ladies and a young man came to the booth and were happy to learn that Falun Dafa is a cultivation practice that is based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. They said that if everyone could abide by these principles in their daily lives, the world would be a better place.
One woman said that she is recovering from an illness and felt that Dafa could help her. She said that she will keep reciting ‘Falun Dafa is Good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good’. The other women said that they want to join the group practice sessions held at a local park. They also wanted to learn more about Falun Dafa and would go online to read Zhuan Falun.
Three young ladies came to the booth. One of them explained to her friends that she knew about Dafa. She lived in China before. There, she met a very kind lady who practices Falun Dafa. Through this practitioner, she learned what Falun Dafa is and how its persecuted in China. When the other women heard the details of the persecution, they were shocked. They could not understand why the CCP persecutes such a good cultivation group. A practitioner explained the reason the CCP persecutes Falun Dafa, and they said that the CCP is very bad. They said they knew that the CCP persecuted other religious groups. The women said that they would tell their family and friends about Falun Dafa. They all took materials and said they would read them. They each chose small lotus flower keepsakes and thanked the practitioner.
The lady on the right told her friends that she learned about Falun Dafa from a practitioner who she met when she was living in China.
Two teenagers came to the booth to learn about Falun Dafa. One said that she was very happy to get this information. She was also interested in joining the online workshop to learn Falun Dafa at LearnFalunGong.com.
