Practitioners Must Stand Up for What Is Right

(Minghui.org) I practiced Buddhism for many years, but I never understood what cultivation was really all about. Seemingly by accident, I came across Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Dafa, in 1997. I opened it to the table of contents and realized that everything I had been searching for could be found in this book. After reading Zhuan Falun, I devoted myself wholeheartedly to Falun Dafa cultivation and became physically and mentally healthy. It was like being completely reborn. My gratitude to Master is beyond words.

At work, I have always followed Dafa’s principles, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I work very hard and even did the work that should have been done by someone else. I also didn’t mind doing things that others didn’t want to do, and I tried to help anyone in need. I used to accept kickbacks given by sellers, just like the others, but after becoming a cultivator, I refused to take them. A co-worker once said to me, “You are showing how wonderful Falun Dafa is by your actions.”

Clarifying the Truth to the Director of a 610 Office

In the early days of the persecution of Falun Dafa, my phone line was cut. My daughter was studying abroad, and I couldn’t get in contact with her for a long time. I had to go to the 610 Office director to resolve the issue. As soon as I walked in, I accused them of persecuting me and asked why they’d cut my phone line. The director responded, “I didn’t know about this, but with an attitude like that, we can’t really talk about it.”

I realized that I was really resentful and my words were unkind. While he was out getting tea, I quickly corrected my thoughts. When he came back in, I said, “I’m sorry! My attitude was not great just now.”

“I’m also a victim,” he said. “My family is in the countryside and used to be landlords in the past, so we suffered in all the [political] movements and were often bullied. After graduating from college, I became a middle school teacher. Then, when the persecution [of Falun Dafa] was launched, I was transferred to the 610 Office. Because I didn’t want to participate in the persecution, I was often criticized by my superiors, and I didn’t want to work here. Every time Falun Dafa practitioners gave me brochures, I always tried to hold on to them as long as I could and hinder any repercussions as much as possible.” I thanked him.

He asked about my daughter’s situation, and I told him that she was studying abroad. He said, “She can still study so well under such harsh situations. You must be a great mother.” He then said in a serious tone, “I think Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good in all circumstances.” After I got home, my phone was back in service.

Getting Back My Salary

During this period, different amounts were often deducted from my salary, but I took it as a good opportunity to clarify the truth to government personnel.

I went to the director of the Labor Bureau and gave him the information I’d prepared. He said he would read them. When we met again, he had made a professional-looking cover for the pages and gave them back to me. He asked me not to tell anyone that he’d helped me. I then took the booklet to the Public Complaints and Proposals Administration. The person who received me was a young man. After reading the booklet, he said, “So many unfair things are going on these days—you just have to keep an open mind. Our director will be back in a little bit, and we will submit a report for you. Just go home and wait for it.”

A week later, he asked me to come to his office. He said, “All the district chiefs have signed it.” I saw that they’d all written the same thing, “Follow the policy.” He continued, “I will help you to push it forward, and you will also need to go to the Social Security Bureau.” I went there but they still refused to give me my pay because they were told by the district 610 Office to withhold it. I then went to the District Women’s Federation to get help.

The 610 Office called me the next day to come to their office. As soon as I walked in, someone snapped, “We just deducted a little money, and you went everywhere to report it! You aren’t allowed to report it again! You will get your pay tomorrow.”

Talking to People about Dafa

I have always been clarifying the truth face to face. One time, I met a teacher from my child’s school who wouldn’t listen to me. I clarified the truth to her again and asked her to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations. She said, “Now I believe everything you tell me. You guys still insist on saying Dafa is good despite such a severe persecution meted out by the government, so this practice must be good.” She asked me to help her quit the Party.

I ran into a colleague I hadn’t seen for years. I asked her to remember “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” to be safe and healthy, but she wouldn’t listen and turned to walk away. I felt sorry that she might miss this opportunity, and shouted, “You don’t need to listen to me now, but you must remember what I told you when you run into danger in the future!”

She turned back and asked, “What did you tell me just now? I can’t remember.” I told her again. I went on to tell her about how Dafa is embraced worldwide, how practicing can improve people’s morality, its miraculous effects in curing illnesses, and how my family has benefited from it. I then told her about the staged Tiananmen self-immolation incident. She finally understood and quit the CCP.

I was distributing Shen Yun DVDs and saw a supervisor from my company, so I handed him one and told him about this pure and beautiful traditional Chinese cultural performance. He took it. A few days later, we ran into each other again and he said, “That performance was so beautiful. Do you have anything else for me to look at?” I later took different information to his office. At that time, there was no material production site in our area and it was difficult to make copies. There was a big photocopier in the office where I worked, and I wanted to see if he could help make some copies. He happened to be alone in the office that day and I asked if he could help me make two copies. He said, “Are two enough?” He ended up making more. I clarified the truth to him and helped him quit the CCP. He has chosen a bright future for himself.

The coronavirus pandemic swept across China, and we understood even more the importance of our missions and responsibilities in early 2020. My local area was in lockdown but I was still able to go out. The streets were almost empty. I took truth-clarifying materials with me and handed people a copy whenever I had a chance.

Clarifying the Truth in the Countryside

Over the years, we have clarified the truth in cities, rural areas, and remote, mountainous places. We try to cover every single village and strive not to miss any.

A fellow practitioner and I went to a township and walked into a village. Usually there were not many people around, but that day, there were people at most of the doors. We clarified the truth to all of them and helped more than 20 people quit the Party. After leaving the village, we went to a farmer’s market and helped all the people we ran into along the way quit as well. Suddenly, someone came up to me from behind. I turned around and saw a young lady with a small child. She asked, “Are you my aunt?”

“Yes!” I replied. “It has been so long, I can’t even remember your name!” We said at the same time, “It’s so great to see you!” at the same time. I said to her, “I want to tell you something very important. Now that the situation with the pandemic is so serious, you must remember ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ and Gods and Buddhas will bless you and you will be safe and healthy.” She nodded in agreement. Then I handed her one of the brochures I had and asked her to pass it on to all the relatives and friends after she read it. She thanked me. In less than half an hour, we helped 15 more people quit the CCP.

Another time, this practitioner and I drove along a mountain trail, where the villages were quite some distance apart. After going through one village, we drove out and after a long time, the road suddenly ended. There was a steep cliff on one side and rock on the other. We needed to make a U-turn on the very narrow road. The driver asked me to get out of the car and direct her. She backed up and I stopped her when the rear wheels were about 10 cm from the edge of the cliff. But then when she tried to go forward, the wheels began to slip and the car wouldn’t move. We didn’t know where we were and there was no one around to help us since we were far from the last village. I said, “Only Master can help us now.” I found some gravel to put under the tires to get some grip and when she started the engine again, I put my hands together and asked Master to help us. This time, the wheels were still slipping, but the car moved forward. Without Master’s protection, we would not have made it.

Our truth-clarifying team headed to a remote mountain village. That day we encountered a lot of people on the way and helped around 100 quit the CCP organizations. Everyone was very happy. On our way back, when we got to the entrance of a village, two police officers stopped our car. One of them took the driver’s license and the other questioned us and told the practitioner sitting in the front to open her bag. It just so happened that she had distributed all the materials she’d had, so there was nothing in the bag. The police took the car key and continued to make phone calls. I kept sending forth righteous thoughts and asked Master to help us. After a while, they returned the driver’s license and car key to us. We knew that Master had disintegrated the persecution for us, and realized there must be loopholes in our cultivation that the old forces took advantage of. Recently, we were able to help 80 to 90 people quit every day, and we had the attachment of zealotry without realizing it.

Looking back on my cultivation path, without Master’s protection, I would not have been able to live through those difficult years. I will do my best at doing the three things, cultivate well, help Master to save more people, live up to Master’s expectations, and fulfill my historic mission.
