Additional Persecution News from China – May 18, 2023 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Donggang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xiuhua Arrested

7. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. He Jianing Arrested and Detained
8. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Hongping Arrested
9. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Shuxiang Persecuted
10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Yukun Arrested and Detained

1. [Donggang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xiuhua Arrested

Ms. Wang Xiuhua and four other practitioners were arrested for distributing information about Falun Gong in Shizijie Town around May 13, 2023. Ms. Wang is being held in the Dandong City Detention Center.

2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Baosheng Arrested

Mr. Zhang Baosheng was arrested at the square in front of the Baoding City Government Building in early May 2023.

3. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Yuying Arrested and Detained

Ms. Wang Yuying, 60, lives in Luotuan Village, Zhanghedian Township, Cheng’an County. She was reported to the police in April 2023 and was taken away on the afternoon of April 30, 2023. She was detained for seven days.

4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Guihua Arrested

Ms. Liu Guihua was arrested on May 13, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to a detention center.

5. [Pizhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Dai Ping’s Home Ransacked

Seven officers including Wang Yinhang, head of the Zhancheng Town Police Station, went to Ms. Dai Ping’s home on March 1, 2023. They ransacked it and confiscated a Falun Gong book, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, two video players, two small media players, two cell phones, and an e-bike.

6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liang Shuzhi Faces Trial

Ms. Liang Shuzhi, 86, received a notice from the Shenyang Intermediate Court, summoning her to appear before the court on May 23, 2023.

7. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. He Jianing Arrested and Detained

Ms. He Jianing was arrested on the way to Xinji City and was taken to the Tianjiazhuang Township Police Station on May 2, 2023. Ms. He was taken to the Yuxiang Street Detention House on the afternoon of May 3, 2023, and released on May 16, 2023.

8. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Hongping Arrested

Xiao Dawei and another officer from the Fu’an Police Station went to Mr. Zhao Hongping’s home on May 15, 2023. They picked him up and took him to the police station. He was released that evening.

9. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Shuxiang Persecuted

Bahao Town Police Station officers in Dagang Township went to Ms. Zhang Shuxiang’s home on March 4, 2023. They attempted to photograph her and take a sample of her saliva. She refused to cooperate. They searched her home and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder. Ms. Zhang managed to escape.

Four officers went to her home again on May 5, 2023. They parked their car on the street and entered the house to search for Ms. Zhang. When they didn’t find her at her home, they searched the neighborhood.

Ms. Zhang left home to avoid further persecution.

10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Li Qiong, Mr. Li’s wife, and four other practitioners were arrested in Mr. Li’s home on the morning of May 12, 2023. Computers and other equipment used to make Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials were confiscated. Mr. Li was taken to the Zhonghan Police Station and his wife was taken to the Maidao Police Station. They were transferred to the Pudong Detention Center on May 13, 2023.

11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Yukun Arrested and Detained

Mr. Zhao Yukun, over 60, is from Yanshou County. He was arrested by Chengbei Police Station officers on the morning of May 12, 2023, and taken to the Harbin City Detention Center.
