(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 29 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Six Practitioners Facing Trial

Six practitioners including Tan Shouli, Hu Jinfeng, Wu Zhiming, Chen Yuying, An Xiurong, and Wang Runrong, will be tried in the Shunyi District Court at 9:30 a.m. on April 27, 2023. Tan Shouli has been detained for over a year. The others have been detained for nearly nine months.

2. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiao Guichun Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Ms. Jiao Guichun was sentenced to 4 years in prison by the Rongcheng District Court.

3. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xu Zhen Taken to Emergency Room During Her Detention

Ms. Xu Zhen and her husband from Qingshanhu District were arrested by officers from the Jingdong Police Station in Qingshanhu District on the afternoon of March 12, 2023, for distributing the truth-clarifying materials. Ms. Xu Zhen has been detained in the No.1 Detention Center. Her husband was detained in the Nanchang City Detention House and has been released.

Ms. Xu Zhen was taken to the emergency room in the No. 2 Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University around April 14, 2023. It is said that Ms. Xu has severe problems with her heart and her kidney. Her legs are swollen a lot. She also vomits a lot.

4. [Shanghai] Ms. Tang Aihong and Mr. Wang Huiguo Arrested

A dozen of officers from the Yangsi Police Station went to the home of Ms. Tang Aihong and Mr. Wang Huiguo around 8:30 a.m. on April 21, 2023. They ransacked the home and confiscated a laptop, a printer, and many Dafa books. Ms. Tang, 58, and Mr. Wang, 63, were taken to the Pudong New District Detention Center.

5. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Chen Shuling and two other practitioners were arrested when they went out to distribute the truth-clarifying materials on the afternoon of April 20, 2023. The officers from the Wuyi Road Police Station in Qiaodong District went to Ms. Chen’s home around 11 p.m. and ransacked her home. Dafa books were confiscated. It is unknown where the three practitioners are detained.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ma Lichun Arrested

Mr. Ma Lichun lives in Zhonghexia Village, Jiulong Sub-district, Fangzi District. He was arrested at home by officers from the Nanliu Police Station at 6 a.m. on April 20, 2023.

7. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Ma Pengfei Arrested

Mr. Ma Pengfei, 38, was arrested by officers from the Dashiqiao Police Station in Jinshui District on April 19, 2023. He is currently detained in the No. 3 Detention Center in Guying Town.

8. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Yongfen Placed Under Official Arrested

Ms. Liu Yongfen, 72, was arrested at home on April 13, 2022. Several officers including Mo Kun, head of the Nan District Domestic Security Division, went to her home and confiscated more than 50 Dafa books and the photo of Falun Gong founder. Ms. Liu was released the next day and was placed under residential surveillance for half a year. Her case was submitted to the Nan District Procuratorate in early December 2022. She was placed under official arrest in January 2023. Ms. Liu has left home to avoid further persecution.

9. [Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Ma Yuequn Arrested

Ms. Ma Yuequn, 61, had been sentenced to two and half years in prison by the Yushui District Court in early 2016 and was detained in the Nanchang Women’s Prison. She was arrested again recently. It is said that she is detained in the Xinyu Detention Center.

10. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Fengshi Harassed

Ms. Liu Fengshi was harassed at home by officers from the Dagang Township Police Station on March 7, 2023. She was taken to the police station to have a photo taken and a saliva sample taken.

Ms. Liu was harassed at home again on March 19, 2023. The officers took some photos of her.

11. [Juancheng County, Shandong Province] Ms. Tao Airong Released After One Year and Eight Months of Detention

Ms. Tao Airong was arrested at home by officers from the Zuoying Town Police Station on July 20, 2021. She was later sentenced to one year and eight months and had been detained in the Heze Detention Center. Ms. Tao was released and returned home.

12. [Leiyang City, Hunan Province] Practitioners Long Nengying and Zhang Yingrong Arrested

Practitioner Long Nengying and Ms. Zhang Yingrong were arrested in Changning City on April 8, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were detained for 15 days. According to the family of Ms. Zhang Yingrong, the two practitioners are now placed under criminal custody.

13. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wei Xiuying Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Ms. Wei Xiuying from Linghai City was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan on the first trial. She appealed to the Jinzhou City Intermediate Court. The original verdict was upheld in the intermediate court on April 19, 2023.

14. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jinghui Taken to Prison

Ms. Wang Jinghui was sentenced to one year and six months in prison and fined 5000 yuan by the Yuhong District Court on July 21, 2022. She was taken to the No. 2 Women’s Prison in Shenyang City around April 5, 2023.

15. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tang Hua Beaten During Detention

Ms. Tang Hua was arrested by officers from the Shahe Police Station on March 4, 2023, and was detained in the No.3 Detention Center for 15 days. During the detention, she was sprayed with chili water three times by a male guard. Four drug addicts, instructed by the guard, covered her with a quilt and beat her badly.

16. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhu Yunxiang Arrested

Ms. Zhu Yunxiang from Putuo District was arrested by officers from the Daqiao Police Station in Yangpu District on the evening of April 20, 2023.

17. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Quan Wenjiao Detained

Practitioner Quan Wenjiao was arrested on April 11, 2023, and is currently detained in the Laixi City Detention House.

18. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] The Case Against Ms. Fan Meiling Submitted to the Procuratorate

The case against Ms. Fan Meiling was submitted to the Bazhou City Procuratorate on April 17, 2023.

19. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Fen Arrested

Several officers from the Zhuanshiwan Police Station went to Ms. Li Fen’s home at 7 p.m. on April 18, 2023. They ransacked the home and confiscated a printer, copy machine, Dafa books, the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and some weekly magazines. Ms. Li was arrested and is currently detained in the Jinjia Street Rehab.

20. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wu Chuanru Arrested

Ms. Wu Chuanru from Jiangyuan District was arrested by three plainclothes officers when talking to people about Falun Gong.
