[Celebrating Falun Dafa Day] A Day at the Police Station

(Minghui.org) I was stopped by a plainclothes policeman on a scooter after I took my son to school on the morning of March 1, 2023. He grabbed my arm and said, “Are you so and so? Where did you go in the evening two days before the Chinese New Year? Come with us.” He turned and waved to the police car behind him. Several policemen quickly got out of the car and handcuffed my arms behind my back. 

People passing by stopped and watched. I called out, “The police are kidnapping a good person who follows Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!”

Policewoman: “How Miraculous!”

The police pushed me into the car and said, “Take her directly to the hospital for a checkup.” The deputy director of the police station, surnamed Liu, led the team. He was full of foul language, cursed loudly and shouted, “I will definitely detain you today! You put up those posters. Did you put up posters in (such and such) streets?” I said, “You shouldn’t persecute Falun Dafa and good people. Falun Dafa teaches people to be good and kind, and it is practiced in over 100 countries.” Liu said, “I am a bad person. I am a murderer. It’s a lot of fun. I will persecute you people to death. I will persecute you to death. In the end, you will implicate your family, and your family will be broken and dead.”

Liu cursed badly and didn’t let me talk to him about Falun Dafa. He kept threatening me, “I will beat you if you don’t shut up.” I was not moved and continued clarifying the truth to the police in the car. I told them about my cultivation experiences. One policewoman said, “How miraculous!” I said, “I hope all of you will know the truth and stay safe.”

From their conversations, I learned that they’d waited outside my residential building early in the morning. They knew when I took my son to school and picked him up. 

The police drove me to the municipal hospital for a blood test. They tried to deceive me and claimed that I could go home after the blood test. I didn’t cooperate with them. Liu yanked my handcuffs upwards. The handcuffs were so tight that my wrists bled. It was excruciatingly painful. I shouted loudly with all my strength so that everyone in the hospital could hear me: “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good! The whole world knows it. The police arrest and persecute good people.”

I told the doctor not to cooperate with the police and help them do bad things. I said that the police were persecuting me and committing a crime. Liu grabbed the handcuffs forcefully. I shouted even louder, “Falun Dafa is good!” The police tried to cover my mouth. They tried to pull up my mask to cover my face. 

After the blood test, the back of my hand was bruised, with a big hematoma. It bled. I told the policewoman, “Look at how you injured me.” She looked at it and went to get a cotton ball. She took me to take a urine test. I refused to cooperate and said, “Please do not follow their orders to persecute good people. Falun Dafa is good. People practice it around the world. Whoever gets involved in the persecution will eventually be held responsible.” The policewoman told Liu, “She didn’t cooperate and refused. I am unable to make her do it.”

I Do Not Cooperate

They took me to have a CT scan and asked me if I had COVID. I said, “You are violating the law by persecuting good people. You are committing a crime. Falun Dafa has received so many international awards and is respected and protected worldwide. Only the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) persecutes Falun Dafa.” Liu threatened me, “If you continue talking I will beat you.” I said, “You beat me then. Don’t you have gun? Why don’t you shoot me?” He was surprised. He looked at me but didn’t hit me. 

They carried me to the CT table and pushed me down on my back. The handcuffs dug into my back. I said, “Chinese people don’t have human rights. You can do whatever you want to them. Doctor, please don’t cooperate with them and do bad deeds. They persecute Falun Dafa and harvest organs from living practitioners. So many good and kind people have been persecuted to death.”

I didn’t cooperate. For example, when I was asked to inhale, I exhaled. Liu continued cursing at me.

The police took me to do the COVID test. Liu threatened me, “Your son will starve. No one will look after him. No one will pick him up from school. He will wander the streets, crying. His father will be arrested. Your child have nowhere to go. You are now in our hands. In the future, your child will be in our hands. I will make sure he has no future and no mother.” I said, “I am not a criminal. Even a criminal’s child is not treated like that.”

I asked them to let me make a phone call to a family member to pick up my son. I said, “If anything happens to my child, I will sue your police station.” They didn’t allow me to make the phone call. 

People Listen Quietly

I saw the long queue waiting for the COVID test. I said loudly to the people waiting in line, “The police are kidnapping good people who act according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Kindhearted people, please phone my husband and tell him to pick up our child. My son is still small and cannot go home by himself.” I repeatedly shouted this, along with my husband’s phone number. 

People quietly listened. Some were video recording. I clearly and slowly said, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good. Please recite these words when you are in danger. You will be blessed.” Liu suddenly said, “The sentence is too long. I cannot remember it.” I said, “When you are in danger, please recite ‘Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ You will stay safe.”

When it was my turn to have the COVID test, the police grabbed my hair and pressed my head against the glass. I told the doctor, “Please do not participate in the persecution of Falun Dafa.” As I talked, the doctor put the cotton swab into my mouth. 

So Many Policemen Don’t Know the Truth

They dragged me into the police car after the COVID test. I was taken to the district police department. Liu cursed loudly and said, “What were you talking about in the hospital? You see how I will punish you when we arrive at my place. I will beat you to death.” I asked him, “Is it right to kill?” He said, “Yes, I will kill you when we get there.” 

I was ordered to have a photo taken when we entered the lobby. I refused. Liu grabbed my head. I closed my eyes. They held me and took my photo. Liu looked at me and knew that I wouldn’t sign their paperwork. He signed it instead. 

Other policemen came and surrounded me and said, “Practitioners set themselves on fire. Why do you still practice?” I said, “The self-immolation was staged. Liu Siying [one of the self-immolators] had a tracheotomy. When the reporter interviewed her, how could she still sing if her trachea was cut? Wang Jingdong [another self-immolator] didn’t practice Falun Dafa. The way he sat was incorrect.” I showed them the correct position. The policemen were surprised and didn’t say anything. 

One policewoman said, “Practitioners kill people.” I said, “That’s not correct. Our Master teaches us to be good people according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. He teaches us to be kind, to consider others first and to be selfless. All the principles are in the book Zhuan Falun. Read the book yourselves. All of you have been deceived by the fake news on TV.”

They told me to change clothes and go to the interrogation room. Liu said, “If you don’t cooperate, we will beat you.” They put a vest on me. Liu said again that they would beat me. I asked him, “Will beating me make you happy?” He said yes. I said, “You beat me then.” He started to curse at me. I said, “Do you feel happy when you curse at me?” He said he was happy. I said, “Then you curse at me.” He cursed once and then stopped. They took me to the interrogation room and chained me to an iron chair. Then they started to interrogate me. I clarified the truth to them and told them to be kind. Liu said, “You are criminal suspect.” I said, “There is no law against practicing Falun Dafa.” Liu took out his cell phone and started to search on the Internet. He could not find any law in China that banned Falun Dafa. 

I said, “I haven’t committed any crime. You shouldn’t abuse your power to hurt me. You are committing crimes. I am a law-abiding Chinese citizen. Does the CCP do anything good?

“The Cultural Revolution lasted for 10 years. So many innocent, good people were labeled as rightists. When people were vindicated, it was found that 99% of them had been wrongly convicted. History is being repeated. When Rome persecuted the Christians, four plagues broke out. Now the CCP has framed Falun Dafa and spread its lies to the whole world. Didn’t the CCP bring on the COVID pandemic and spread it to the world? It is a heavenly principle that good will be rewarded and evil punished. The ancient Chinese said that those who beat and cursed at monks would definitely be punished by Heaven. Even if only one of you understands the truth today, I haven’t suffered in vain. I am only afraid that you still won’t know the truth when I leave...”

Police: You Can Say It Overseas But Will Be Imprisoned in This Country

One policeman came to me and said, “You are so young. Why do you practice Falun Dafa?” I told him, “If you go overseas, you will see that millions of people practice Falun Dafa. Other countries have freedom of belief, and persecuting a person’s belief is a crime. Isn’t there a CCP slogan: ‘If people have faith, the nation will have power.’” Liu said, “Falun Dafa is a [slanderous term deleted].” I said, “Jiang Zemin imposed that term on Falun Dafa. The CCP persecutes Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Zhuan Falun has been translated into more than 40 languages and is read around the world.” Liu didn’t know what to say. 

Another policeman said that he visited websites via software that circumvents the CCP’s Internet censorship. I said, “You should treasure those opportunities. So many Chinese people are not able to visit them.” 

One policeman showed me screen shots of posters. I said, “What’s wrong with putting up posters? Should people who do this be arrested and imprisoned?” The policeman shouted loudly, “You can protest in a parade and shout ‘Falun Dafa is good’ any time overseas, but not in China. You will be arrested, detained and imprisoned for putting up posters. When this thing is finished, you need to hurry to go overseas.”

Liu took out a piece of paper and several items of my clothing. One young policeman told him how they ransacked my home. I learned that they secretly broke into my home and took away my computer, hard drive, Falun Dafa books, mobile phones and U disc. They took many things. 

The Police Have Headaches

Liu called the young policeman over to take a photo of me and collect my fingerprints. I didn’t cooperate with them. Liu dragged me to a bench. I didn’t sit down. He grabbed my head and hit it against the wall. He punched my temple. He kicked my legs. My arms and legs were covered in bruises. 

I said to Master in my heart: “Master, please protect me.” I didn’t have any complaint or hatred. Other policemen came and surrounded me. They held my head with their hands and two other policemen supported me. I closed my eyes. They took a photo of me this way. The policeman who took the photo asked, “Is this okay? There is a hand on her head.” Liu said, “That’s the best we can do. I will explain it to them later.”

The police tried to get my fingerprints forcibly. I clenched my fists tightly, thinking that they would not succeed. Indeed, they were not able to get my fingerprints. The young policeman said, “Why does she have so much strength? We haven’t done anything, yet the computer crashed.” The policeman behind me also said, “The Wi-Fi is not working now.”

The police finally let me sit down. I told them, “I will not cooperate with you to commit crimes. That will hurt you. I was not angry when you hit me. I had no complaints when you cursed at me. I am not afraid that you will beat me. I am optimistic in my heart because I am a good person. I haven’t done anything wrong. You are wrong. You are police officers, yet you knowingly violate the law. Why do you persecute good people?” They were all silent. They said that they had headaches. One policeman said that he was tired. Liu said that his lungs hurt.

I didn’t know where Liu went. He didn’t come back until much later. He told the others that he called everywhere to get instructions. It seemed that my files were missing. He couldn’t continue what he was doing. He said, “She doesn’t cooperate or admit anything. Her physical checkup is not complete. We are unable to handle this case.” At 4 p.m. Liu asked, “Do you want your husband to pick up the child or your mother-in-law?” I said firmly, “I will pick him up.” He asked me again. I repeated, “I will pick him up.”

Several minutes later, Liu said, “The upper level management had a fight. The top leader said she could be released. The Political and Security department also phoned and said that they didn’t care and left it to me. I wanted to curse but dared not curse at them. What a day we've had! What are we doing?” He laughed and then said, “What a day! I have been a policeman for so many years. This is the second incomplete case I have handled. I would rather arrest two other people than one Falun Dafa practitioner...” One young policeman said, “The team leader said this morning that the case would not be successful today.” 

I said, “I feel so happy for you. You are not successful in persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. I don’t need to worry about you. It is a serious international crime to persecute Falun Dafa. The new Chinese law says that whoever does wrong has to take responsibility. When people are held accountable, what will you do? You’d better think for yourselves.” Liu smiled and said, “What she says is true!” 

“What Are You Doing This For?”

On the way back to the police station, Liu said, “We have investigated you for three years. No one gave you a penny. What are you doing this for? You see what your child wears. Look at what you wear. You don’t even have decent clothes. What’s it all for?” I said, “I hope that all of you stay safe and sound. Everyone has parents and kids. I hope you policemen and policewomen will all be good people.” They laughed. 

Liu asked again, “Then what benefits do you get from practicing Falun Dafa?” I said, “The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance teach people to be good. I am a good person. You investigate it. I haven’t done bad things from my childhood onward. You people arrested my mom when I was very young. There was no one to deliver the food to the widower she had been looking after. I got up early and cooked for him. I then delivered the food to him before 7 o’clock for three years, rain or shine, cold or hot. No one in my village said that we were not good people.” 

I could feel the police relax. I said, “Look at the sky. The sun came out. How beautiful and how warm! It fills people’s hearts with hope. It is just like people’s belief in their hearts. People cannot live without sunshine, air or water, but they can live without money or their personal interests fulfilled.”

They listened to me quietly. The young driver said softly, “I don’t know what to say after listening to you.”

Hoping People Can Learn the Truth and Stay Safe

It was dark when I left the police station. I only had less than one yuan in my pocket. The police have left my keys and wallet in my home when they ransacked it. I called a taxi and told the driver that I would pay him after I got home. The driver was very kind and didn’t want to charge me after he listened to my story. 

I asked the locksmith to open the lock for me. My home was in shambles. I saw a note on the desk from my son.

I went out to look for him. In the dark, cold evening, I shouted my son’s name. My husband brought him home. When he saw my injured hand, he cried. He said, “Mom, I will follow you wherever you go. I want to go home.”

I really hope that everyone in this world can learn the truth, be blessed and stay safe. Police officers: please stop hurting good and innocent people. You too have family members. Please don’t continue persecuting Falun Dafa. Heaven is watching and is recording every person’s behavior. Do not push yourself into the abyss of eternal doom. Think of your future and your children’s futures. I hope all of you have a beautiful future!
