(Minghui.org) May 13, 2023, is the 31st anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction and the 24th World Falun Dafa Day. Four New York city council members sent letters to congratulate World Falun Dafa Day and praised practitioners for their contribution to the prosperity of the community by spreading the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Councilwoman Kristin Richardson Jordan stated in her letter, “Myself and my office commend you on all of your work, advocacy for human rights, justice, and peace. Your work does not go unnoticed. We thank you all for offering free Falun Gong exercise instructions and workshops, cultural programs on TV cable shows, art exhibits, and outdoor practice sites as well as sharing personal experiences on something so personal and dear to your lives.”

In his letter, New York Council Member David Carr wrote, “Spirituality is an essential part of the human condition and the health and wellbeing of an individual, and Falun Dafa has provided this for many New Yorkers.

“Falun Dafa’s international following is a testament to the community and enrichment of character it seeks to provide, and this holiday is a reminder of the courageous resilience of its practitioners in the face of daunting opposition. My office and I wish you a happy anniversary and a safe and prosperous future.”
