(Minghui.org) To celebrate World Falun Dafa Day on May 13, 2023, and the birthday of its founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi, practitioners in Hawaii held several activities and thanked Master Li for his compassionate saving grace.
Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day
On May 13, 2023, World Falun Dafa Day, practitioners in Hawaii shared the beauty of Falun Dafa with visitors from around the world by demonstrating the exercises, distributing informational materials and small lotus flowers, and singing songs composed by practitioners. The event was held on Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki, a popular tourist destination in Honolulu.
Kalakaua Avenue is considered Hawaii’s main shopping district and attracts people from all over the world. Folk artists showcase their talents in various forms every night, making it a must-visit destination for visitors to Hawaii. Amidst the hustle and bustle of traffic and hurried travelers, practitioners peacefully demonstrated the five sets of exercises. Many people stopped and watched and some took photos or videos.

Practitioners sang, “Falun Dafa is Good”
Afterward, practitioners sang “Falun Dafa is Good” and “Coming For You” to celebrate. Some practitioners also performed, singing songs such as “Telling the Truth,” “Only the Truth Can Save,” and “Ode to the Lotus,” and young practitioners played the violin piece “May It Be.” They handed out information about Falun Dafa and small lotus flowers and told people about how wonderful Falun Dafa is and how it is persecuted in China.
Many passersby took flyers and some expressed an interest in learning how to practice Falun Dafa. Some people remarked that practitioners were calm and serene, so they were shocked to learn that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes Falun Dafa. A visitor from California was interested in Chinese and repeatedly said the words on the banner, “Falun Dafa is good.” He expressed interest in learning more about Falun Dafa.

Shawn from Russia now lives in San Diego. He said he was well aware of how evil the CCP is, but it was the first time he heard about the persecution of Falun Dafa. He expressed sympathy for practitioners and said that the CCP should not persecute Falun Dafa and make Chinese people suffer.

A man who lives in Hawaii said that the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa was unacceptable. He found Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance very good and was interested in learning Falun Gong. He asked about information on the practice sites and hoped he could learn it as soon as possible.
Spiritual Food at the Food Fair
On April 29 and 30, before Falun Dafa Day, practitioners participated in a festival at the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. It was a two-day “Food Spring Show” with nearly 200 booths offering a variety of food and packaged goods that attracted many people. Practitioners shared their valuable “spiritual food” Falun Dafa, by demonstrating the exercises, distributing informational materials, and sharing their experiences of physical and spiritual benefits from the practice.

A lady from Los Angeles came to the booth to express her respect and concern for practitioners. She shook their hands and said, “I’m so sorry to hear that the CCP persecutes you like this.”
She said she heard about the persecution 20 years ago. The CCP is too evil, and the practitioners were really amazing. She shared an old Hawaiian story with them, the moral of which is that people should not have enemies, which she felt reflected the goodness shown by practitioners. She admired their kindness and resilience.
She asked for a small lotus flower and thanked them repeatedly.
A local event organizer in Hawaii invited the practitioners to participate in an event to be held on the Big Island to show more people the beauty of Dafa.
New Practitioner Thanks Master
Scott Fields started practicing Falun Dafa six months ago. He always felt that he had a mission and previously practiced Christianity.

Scott has been practicing since November 2022 and said his life changed holistically. He said he used to lose his way in life’s struggle. After reading Zhuan Falun, he found the truth that he was searching for and thanked Master from the bottom of his heart.
Looking back on his life, he felt that Master had been watching over him, allowing him to have the opportunity to learn Dafa. He feels he miraculously found Dafa after years of painstaking search. He deeply feels Master’s compassion and said that Master’s birthday is also the day when more people are awakened to learn more about the practice. Thank you, Master!
