(Minghui.org) Seven cities in the Dallas area proclaimed May 13, 2023 as Falun Dafa Day, and the mayors of four cities sent congratulatory letters to commend Falun Dafa’s contribution to society and communities, and to express their support. May 13, 2023 is the 31st anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction and the 24th annual World Falun Dafa Day. 

Falun Dafa practitioners in the Dallas-Fort Worth area will hold a group exercise and free exercise teaching activity at Celebration Park in the City of Allen on May 13 to celebrate this year’s World Falun Dafa Day. The mayors of the City of Fairview, the City of Lewisville, the City of Little Elm, the City of Mansfield, the City of McKenney, the City of Shady Shores, and the City of Waxahachie sent commendations to the Southern Falun Dafa Association, proclaiming the day as their city’s “Falun Dafa Day.”

Mayors of eleven cities in the Dallas area who issued proclamations or letters to commemorate World Falun Dafa Day. 

Practitioners have held activities to raise awareness about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa in these communities for years, and have won their support. The mayors of four cities sent letters to honor World Falun Dafa Day. The four mayors are: Nick Stanley of the City of Aledo, Wes Mays of the City of Coppell; Linda Martin of the City of Euless, Jay Northcut of the City of Melissa.

Letter from Mayor Nick Stanley of the City of Aledo

Mayor Nick Stanley of the City of Aledo stated in his letter, “On behalf of the City of Aledo, Texas, we proudly commemorate the 24th Annual World Falun Dafa Day celebration, to be observed May 13, 2023, and congratulate all those who participate in World Falun Dafa Day and celebrate the teachings which have brought physical health, joy, and peace of mind to millions of people across the globe.” 

Letter from Mayor Wes Mays of the City of Coppell

Mayor Wes Mays stated in his letter, “Your organization assists in offering classes across many cities and states to help others improve their mental, moral, and physical wellbeing to contribute to a healthier society. Falun Dafa was first introduced to the public in 1992 and to Dallas-Fort Worth in 1996. Since then, free introductory classes by volunteers have been held in public places such as city libraries, recreation centers and public parks. Falun Dafa practitioners have become an integral part of society’s fabric.” 

Letter from Mayor Linda Martin of the City of Euless

Mayor Linda Martin stated in her letter, “I hope the events you have planned in recognition of Falun Dafa Day are a success and you achieve your goals in sharing and celebrating the core tenets of Falun Dafa’s teachings of ‘Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.’”

Mayor Henry Lessner of the Town of Fairview proclaimed May 13, 2023 Falun Dafa Day. 

The proclamation reads, “Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a peaceful self-improvement practice rooted in ancient Chinese culture that centers around the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance and it consists of five gentle exercises, including mediation.

“Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, has helped millions across the world to improve their health and moral standards, as well as deepened their understanding of life, humanity and the universe, through the practice of Falun Dafa.

“Transcending culture and racial boundaries, more than 100 million people in over 100 countries have become happier, healthier and more altruistic through their practice of Falun Dafa, and World Falun Dafa Day celebrates the benefits that this great practice has brought for our society.

“Falun Dafa was first introduced to the public in 1992 and to Dallas-Fort Worth in 1996. Since then, free introductory classes by volunteers have been held in public places such as city libraries, recreation centers and public parks. Falun Dafa practitioners have become an integral part of society’s fabric.
