Latvia: Dafa Practitioners Hold Activities in Riga to Expose the Persecution in China

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Latvia hold activities every week to expose the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa. They recently set up a booth in the capital city, Riga, on Saturday, April 1, 2023, so that locals and tourists could learn about the CCP’s ongoing persecution of their peaceful cultivation practice.

A man expressed his support for practitioners’ efforts in resisting the persecution.

Practitioners told people about the CCP’s crime of organ harvesting, which targets Falun Dafa practitioners in China. They explained that Dafa practitioners believe in the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance but have been brutally persecuted by the CCP since 1999. The person who instigated the persecution was Jiang Zemin, the former head of the CCP. Although he recently died, the persecution continues. Jiang issued a policy of genocide against Falun Dafa, namely, “Defame their reputations, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically.” Tens of thousands of Chinese Falun Dafa practitioners have been illegally detained, brutally tortured, and killed for their organs.

Many young people stopped by to learn more about the persecution. Upon learning that practitioners are persecuted because their beliefs are different from the CCP’s atheism, many were shocked that such persecution exists in today’s civilized world. They also expressed an interest in learning more about Falun Dafa.

When a young man was told that Falun Dafa’s principles are Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and that the practice teaches people to be kind, he said, “I’d like to be like Falun Dafa practitioners.”

A group of university students from Lithuania wanted to know more about Falun Dafa and were happy to receive flyers in Lithuanian. 

A man who signed the petition praised practitioners for doing a good job. He said, “There are many demons harming people nowadays. One of these demons is the CCP. The CCP is nearing its end and I want to help stop this evil.”

Another gentleman said that he’d already signed the petition in Kuldiga, another city in Latvia. He expressed an interest in reading Zhuan Falun, the main text of Falun Dafa. He said that he would go to a library and search for Falun Dafa books.
