Additional Persecution News from China – April 7, 2023 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yufeng, Ms. Wang Enying, and Ms. Zhang Xiuying were arrested by plainclothes officers from the Gaotie Police Station on the morning of March 7, 2023, for distributing information about Falun Gong in the Lingbei Township Market. Their homes were ransacked. The practitioners are being held in the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center.

The families of Ms. Wang Enying and Ms. Zhang Xiuying recently received notices that Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhang had been placed under official arrest by the Linghai City Procuratorate.

2. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Hongmei and Ms. Sun Lixin Arrested

Ms. Zhao Hongmei, 50, is a civil servant in the education department. She was arrested at home on March 8, 2023 and her home was ransacked. She has been held in the Qinhuangdao City Detention Center for nearly a month.

Ms. Sun Lixin, in her 50s, was arrested on the morning of March 8, 2023. It is unknown where she is detained.

3. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Six practitioners including Ms. Chen Xuyun, Ms. Chen Xuzhi, Ms. Chen Guirong, and Ms. Hu Ling, were arrested in early March 2023. Three of them including Ms. Chen Xuzhi and Ms. Hu Ling are still detained in the Zhangwan District brainwashing center.

4. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested or Harassed

Mr. Ma Feilong lives in Dongshacheng Village, Xishacheng Township, Huaian County. When he was about to take a train at the Chaigoubao Railway Station in Huaian County to Xinji City on March 8, 2023, he was identified as a practitioner when his ID was scanned. Officers from the Railway Police Station body-searched him and found three amulets (Falun Gong symbols). He was ordered to go to the Railway Station after he returned from Xinji City.

While Mr. Ma was gone, the police broke the lock and ransacked his home on March 9, 2023. They confiscated all his Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a media player, and other personal belongings.

When Mr. Ma arrived at the Chaigoubao Railway Station from Xinji City on the morning of March 10, 2023, several officers came and arrested him. They body-searched him and handcuffed him to a metal chair while interrogating him. They collected samples of his DNA, blood, and urine, and took his fingerprints. He was taken to the Wanquan County Detention House and photographed, then taken back and released.

The police came to Dongshacheng Village again the next day, on March 11, 2023, and ransacked the homes of the three other practitioners in the same village as Mr. Ma. The practitioners included Ms. Niu Yunlian, Ms. Zhen Xiu’e, and Mr. Ren Zhendong.

5. [Li County, Hebei Province] Ms. Niu Junzhi and Mr. Bian Yuhui Arrested

Mr. Bian Yuhi and Ms. Niu Junzhi, who live in Dongpangguozhuang Village, Daqudi Township, Li County, were reported to the police for talking about Falun Gong in Likou Village, Xiyan Town, Gaoyang County and were arrested at 9 p.m. on February 24, 2023.

The two practitioners were interrogated in the Gaoyang County Police Department. The police took turns interrogating them and did not allow them to sleep. The practitioners were taken to a detention house the next day and held for 14 days.

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Jingrong Arrested

Mr. Zhang Jingrong from Acheng District was arrested by officers from the Huining Police Station on February 8, 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked his home that evening and confiscated his Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder.

Mr. Zhang was taken to the hospital that evening. His family then took him to his hometown, where he stayed for one month. He was called back by officers in the Huining Police Station.

Mr. Zhang went to the police station on March 20, 2023 and was ordered to undergo a physical examination. After he was found to have high blood pressure, he was placed on bail pending trial and was allowed to go home.

7. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhou Meijuan Placed under Surveillance

Ms. Zhou Meijuan lives in Anting Town, Jiading District. A black, high-resolution camera was installed in the downstairs hall in March 2023 to monitor her daily activities.

8. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Liu Hong from the Huanxiling Oil Production Plant of Liaohe Oilfield, was released in late March 2023. Ms. Liu Yan and Mr. Liu Qingjiang are still detained.
