Additional Persecution News from China – April 1, 2023 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 8 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Xixia Imprisoned
2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Qu Xing Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
3. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiang and Ms. Wang Qing Arrested
4. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Xia Arrested and Detained

6. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Hongfeng Persecuted
7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Su Xiake Sentenced to One Year in Prison

1. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Xixia Imprisoned

Ms. Gao Xixia was arrested by officers from the Yucai Road Police Station in June 2021. She was later sentenced to three and a half years in prison. Her family recently received a notice that Ms. Gao was transferred to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison on March 21, 2023.

2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Qu Xing Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison

Mr. Qu Xing was reported to police for putting up stickers with information about Falun Gong while he was delivering food and was arrested on June 7, 2021. He was sentenced to eight years in prison and fined 30,000 yuan by the Gaoxin District Court on February 15, 2023.

3. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiang and Ms. Wang Qing Arrested

Ms. Wang Xiang and Ms. Wang Qing from Ningjin Town were photographed and reported to police on March 29, 2023 when they talked to people about Falun Gong in a local market. They were arrested, their homes were ransacked and their Falun Gong books were confiscated. They were released later that day.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Xia Arrested and Detained

Ms. Xu Xia from Fuping County, Hebei Province, stayed in her daughter’s home in Shunyi District, Beijing, to care for her husband who was hospitalized. She was reported to police for distributing information about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Xixin Residential Community. She was identified via the community surveillance cameras. She was arrested at her daughter’s home by four officers on February 28, 2023. She was interrogated in the Shunyi District Detention Center. She refused to cooperate. Seven days later she was transferred to the Shunyi District Detention House. Ms. Xu was released on the 10^th day.

5. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Shuzhao Arrested

Ms. Sun Shuzhao was reported to police for talking about Falun Gong to a young woman and was arrested by officers from the Yantan Police Station in the Licang District on the evening of January 28, 2023. She was released later that day.

6. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Hongfeng Persecuted

Ms. Liu Hongfeng and another practitioner were reported to police for talking about Falun Gong in the Zhongcun Market in Jinling Town and were arrested in mid-March 2023. They were taken to the police station, but were released that evening.

Ms. Liu was taken away by officers from the Jinling Police Station on the afternoon of March 27, 2023. The police took her to have a series of medical examinations and told her to stay home. To avoid further persecution, Ms. Liu left home.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Su Xiake Sentenced to One Year in Prison

Because she delivered information about Falun Gong, Ms. Su Xiake, 71, was sentenced to one year in prison with a two-year probation and was fined 3000 yuan by the Hongshan District Court on March 3, 2023.
