Information about the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Xinjiang

(Minghui.org) As far as I know, since the Chinese communist regime ordered the “Zero-out” harassment campaign in 2019 in order to force every Falun Gong practitioner on the government’s blacklist to renounce their faith, all Falun Gong practitioners in Xinjiang Province have been targeted and the harassment is still continuing today.

But the mass arrests, detention, and sentencing of Falun Gong practitioners in Xinjiang have rarely been reported by Minghui.org. The reason for that is that as long as any persecution report about any practitioner appeared on Minghui.org, the police in Xinjiang would arrest the practitioner’s entire family, including their elderly parents in their 80s and little children. The police would then use all kinds of tactics to intimidate the family to reveal who submitted the information to Minghui.

Meanwhile, the police would thoroughly search the practitioner’s home. Any piece of paper written with information about Falun Gong would become evidence against him or her.

All of the targeted practitioners’ prison terms were predetermined by the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, depending on how steadfast they were in practicing Falun Gong.

Every police officer and staff member of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee is equipped with two cell phones, one for work and one for personal use. Their work phones were installed with anti-censorship software so that they could check the Minghui website every day to see if there is any persecution accounts being reported.

Most of the Xinjiang practitioners who have stepped forward to expose the persecution have been sentenced or held at drug rehab centers and psychiatric hospitals. Some of their family members were also detained or fired by their workplaces. Fearing that their families may suffer more implications, most of the practitioners chose to stay silent about the persecution.
