(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Xihong Sentenced
Mr. Li Xihong was arrested on July 7, 2023 for distributing Falun Gong flyers. His home was ransacked. His picture of the founder of Falun Gong and all his Falun Gong books were confiscated. He was sentenced to a year in prison by the Dehui Court. He was put into the Gongzhuling Prison on November 14, 2023.
2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Jinqiu Sentenced
Ms. Li Jinqiu was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 8,000 yuan by the Linghai City Court on November 13, 2023. She appealed.
3. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Three Elderly Practitioners on Trial
Ms. Hu Shuiying, 71, Ms. Xiao Xinjin, 75, and another elderly female practitioner were tried by the Xihu District Court on the afternoon of November 21, 2023. Ms. Hu’s attorney submitted a not guilty plea. The court did not pronounce a sentence at the end of the trial. Ms. Hu and Ms. Xiao are being held in the Nanchang City No. 1 Detention Center.
4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gao Yonghui Faces Indictment
Ms. Gao Yonghui mailed letters with Falun Gong information. The Jinniu District Procuratorate accepted the case against her in June 2023. Officers from the Fuqin Police Station went to her home in July. They gave her an oral notification that she was subjected to “six months of house arrest.”
Two officers from the Fuqin Police Station went to her home on November 23, 2023. They ordered her to go to the police station. She refused, but they forced her to go. They made a police statement and told her to say the same thing to the prosecutors.
5. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Liwen Faces Indictment
Ms. Zhang Liwen’s case was transferred from the Jiancaoping Procuratorate to the Wanbolin District Procuratorate at the end of November 2023.
6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Yang Defang was arrested at practitioner Chen’s home by officers from the Chaoyang Police Department on the morning of November 29, 2023. Police ransacked her home and left a bedridden elderly family member at home without a caregiver.
Several practitioners were arrested at the same time. Their names are unknown.
7. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Meng Zhaohong and Ms. Yuan Xiuhua on Trial
Ms. Meng Zhaohong and Ms. Yuan Xiuhua, both 68, were arrested on May 9, 2023, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Qinglong County’s Anziling Open Market. They were detained and charged. Their trial was held in the Funing District Court on August 22, 2023. Their attorneys entered a not guilty plea.
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Yanmin Sentenced
Ms. Li Yanmin was sentenced to ten months in prison by the Chaoyang District Court in October, 2023.
She was arrested at home by officers from the Hongqi Street Police Station on June 12, 2023.
9. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Practitioners Harassed, Arrested, and Tortured
Ms. Wang Yinglan, 83, lives in the Shuiyinghuacheng Community. Several officers broke into her home at noon on October 27, 2023. They ransacked the place, seized over 50 copies of Falun Gong books and over 2,000 yuan imprinted with information about Falun Gong. They planned to arrest her, but changed their minds after seeing that she had difficulty walking. They arrested Ms. Su Ronghua, a practitioner who was there cooking for Ms. Wang. They went to her place and seized her Falun Gong books.
Ms. Wang Yanhua was arrested and tortured. Her two computers, at least three printers, and supplies were confiscated.
10. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Guilan Arrested
Ms. Li Guilan was arrested at home on the evening of November 23, 2023. Her home was ransacked.
11. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Wang Tingfang Detained
Ms. Wang Tingfang, 83, was arrested by officers from the Hebin Police Station on May 10, 2023. Police accused her of distributing Falun Gong flyers and making false statements. She was released on bail after she was detained for 57 days.
12. [Anda City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Pan Lihong Detained
Ms. Pan Lihong was arrested at her home by officers from the Chaoyang Police Station at 8:00 a.m. on November 19, 2023. She was detained for 15 days for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in 2022.
Someone reported Ms. Pan and Ms. Geng Meiwu when they talked to people about Falun Gong in 2022. One year later, Officer Li Dong and others from the Chaoyang Police Station called them and ordered them to report to the police station. They did not cooperate. The police monitored their homes. Ms. Pang was arrested and detained, while Ms. Geng escaped.
13. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Yanying Detained
Several people knocked on Ms. Li Yanying’s door on the afternoon of November 21, 2023. They claimed that they were community officers and community clerks, and they wanted to photograph her. She did not open the door. They took a picture of her doorplate and left.
Officers from the Dongfeng Police Department and the Jiadong Police Station broke into her home and arrested her after 2:00 p.m. on November 23, 2023. She was taken to the police station. The police returned after 5:00 p.m. and ransacked her home. Her family called the police station three days later and learned that she would be detained for 15 days.
Her family went to the Jamusi Detention Center on November 27, and asked to visit her. The guards refused to allow them to see her.
