7. [Xilingoulemeng, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Tian Ruiping Arrested and Detained
8. [Baotou City, Inner Mongolia] Three Practitioners Face Third Hearing
1. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Xia Zhenglun Dies During Detention
Mr. Xia Zhenghun died when he was detained in the Nancheng Detention Center.
2. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] The Verdict Against Mr. Tang Lirong Upheld in the Intermediate Court
Mr. Tang Lirong was sentenced to four years and six months in prison and fined 40,000 yuan by the Jingyang District Court on February 17, 2023. The verdict was upheld by the Deyang City Intermediate Court in December 2023.
3. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Xueqin Arrested and Detained
Ms. Zhang Xueqin was recently arrested and sent to the Nancheng Detention Center.
4. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yaofeng Arrested
Ms. Liu Yaofeng was arrested at the Laiyang Train Station when she was about to board a train. Several officers grabbed her, pressed her down, forcibly put a prisoner uniform on her, and photographed her. Blood samples were forcefully drawn from her three times during the physical examination.
5. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Aihua Arrested
Ms. Li Aihua was arrested by officers from the Jianqiao Police Station on October 21, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, CDs, etc. Ms. Li was released later that day.
Ms. Li was arrested at home and was taken to the Jianqiao Police Station on the afternoon of October 31, 2023. She refused to cooperate and was placed under residential surveillance.
The police went to her home on the morning of November 3, 2023. The residential surveillance was canceled. She was placed under administrative punishment instead of criminal punishment.
6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xie Yuanxia and Ms. Yu Huanzhi Tried in Court
Ms. Xie Yuanxia and Ms. Yu Huanzhi were arrested in March 2023 when they distributed information about Falun Gong in Panlongcheng, Huangpo District. They were held in the No.1 Detention Center of Wuhan City for nearly 10 months. They were tried in the Xinzhou Court on October 13, 2023.
7. [Xilingoulemeng, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Tian Ruiping Arrested and Detained
Ms. Tian Ruiping, around 60, from Duolun County was arrested by officers including Yan Shubin, head of the Qiaoxi Police Station, around November 20, 2023. She was released the same day. She was later arrested again and held in the Duolun County Detention House. Ms. Tian has now returned home.
8. [Baotou City, Inner Mongolia] Three Practitioners Face Third Hearing
The case against Mr. Wang Ying, Mr. Zhang Ruitong, and Ms. Meng Lili, was submitted to the Donghe District Court on September 28, 2023. They have been tried in court twice. Now the third hearing is scheduled on December 13, 2023. Mr. Wang Ying and Mr. Zhang Ruitong are currently detained in the Hedong District Detention Center. Ms. Meng Lili is detained in the Guchengwan Detention Center.
