(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 53 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Face Trial

Thirty-seven practitioners were arrested in Gaomi City on June 24, 2022. They were all placed under bail pending trial for one year. One year later, some practitioners were placed under residential surveillance for six months. Four of them: Ms. Zhou Zhaoxiu, Ms. Xia Xiuxiang, Ms. Li Chunlan, and Ms. Yan Suhua, were scheduled to be tried in the Gaomi City Court on December 18, 2023.

2. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yuchun Tortured in Prison

Ms. Li Yuchun, nearly 70, is currently detained in the No. 4 Ward, Liaoning Province Women’s Prison. Because she refused to sign the three statements, she was tortured including being made to stand for long hours, force-fed, detained in solitary confinement, not allowed to use the restroom, wash herself, etc. Her legs were badly swollen because she was made to stand for hours. Three inmates took turns tormenting her. Her body was covered in bruises.

3. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] The Case Against Nine Practitioners Submitted to the Court

The case against nine practitioners from Changtu County was submitted to the Changtu County Court. The practitioners are Zhao Chunlin, Shi Guimin, Liu Zhiyong, Zhao Hongzhi, Meng Guilan, Sun Wanliang, Wang Huafeng, Tian Wei, and Geng Ming.

4. [Hunchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Huang Jiazhen’s Pension Withheld

Ms. Huang Jiazhen, 58, retired from the Hunchun Forestry Bureau in July 2017. Since June 2022, Ms. Huang’s pension has been withheld by the Hunchun Social Security Bureau and the Hunchun City Human Resources Bureau, which caused her financial difficulties.

5. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Guokun Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zhao Guokun was arrested by officers from the Minzhu Police Station in the Changyi District on the evening of December 6, 2023. She is currently held in the Jilin City Detention House.

6. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Yuhui Arrested and Detained

Ms. Chen Yuhui was arrested at home by officers from the Tiande Police Station and the Beicheng Police Station at 7 p.m. on December 8, 2023. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books and truth-clarifying materials were confiscated. She was placed under 13-day detention.

7. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yin Guangmin Arrested and Detained

Ms. Yi Guangmin was arrested by officers from the Hongquan Township Police Station on December 3, 2023. Her home was ransacked. She was detained for 7 days.

8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Aiji to Be Released

Ms. Yu Aiji was sentenced to one and a half years in prison and was sent to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison. She will be released on December 11, 2023.
