(Minghui.org) In commemoration of International Human Rights Day, December 10, practitioners held an information event in the old center of Brașov on December 9, 2023. They displayed banners and provided informational materials to tell people about Falun Dafa and its guiding values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. They also informed people of the systematic persecution of the practice by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and invited them to sign a petition to the Romanian government to take action against the 24-year-long persecution.
Many people who stopped by the practitioners’ information display said this was the first time they had heard of Falun Dafa and the persecution, but others were already familiar with the egregious human rights violations. Everyone said that the persecution of Falun Dafa in China must be stopped immediately.
The Whole World Should Learn About Falun Dafa
Lorena, 29, said she first heard about Falun Dafa when she lived in Berlin. She was impressed by what she learned about the practice and approached the practitioners in Brașov as they were setting up the event to express her support.
“[In Berlin,] I learned that Falun Dafa helps people to relax, to be calm, and practitioners pass on this ancient cultivation way from Chinese tradition. I was impressed with Falun Dafa and read the leaflets about what is happening and how the CCP is currently persecuting this practice in China,” she said.
She also said that Falun Dafa is important and that people worldwide should know about the practice. “I think this practice is important in the sense that it is very well documented, people who have practiced it in China have been free from diseases and have achieved much better health. Given that it was revived in 1992 and so quickly became a global phenomenon, I think it definitely has an impact,” Lorena said.
To the practitioners in China, she conveyed her best wishes and encouragement, and that she hoped that they could hold onto their faith for the day that they can practice freely again.
A Law Student Says the Persecution Should End

Ștefania Iuliana Olteanu is a 20-year-old law student who believes that strong public opinion can stop the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. She said the brutal treatment of Falun Dafa practitioners in China made her feel depressed. She signed the practitioners’ petition in hopes that more people would know about it.
“I think more people should sign this petition, as we can make a difference with our opinions, and that it’s not normal for this to happen, especially in the year 2023. I hope something can be done by getting more people involved who want things to change for the better. I wish practitioners good luck!” Ștefania said.
“We need to inform people about this persecution.”
Mirabela and Filip (next to the banner) believe that the world needs to be warned about the real situation in China.
Mirabela Vasile and Filip Voicu are both 16-year-old students and spoke with practitioners to get more information about the practice. When they heard of the three values of Falun Dafa, Mirabela said they matched her view of life.
“It is a practice that gives inner calm and tranquility, and I like to be calm, to be rational,” she said.
Filip added that he also thinks these are very good values, and believes that most young people like him would agree with Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
Regarding the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa, Mirabela said people should take action to stop it. "I don’t think it’s right, and it should stop. We need to warn people and inform them about this.” Filip agreed with her. They both signed the practitioners’ petition.
